Skull crushers
18kg x 6
28kg x 5
30.5kg x 5
33kg x 4

Single arm machine extension(tricep)

A nice session today. Furiouse about the dumbells and they have been promising that they have a new set coming for months now. I tried the tricep machine for the first time today, it is very good and works the tricep very well through the whole range, will use it again.

Ab work

Got the bar even lower on my back today and noticed how much easier it was to stay upright and felt no real strain doing it. The position tho is probably the most uncomfortable thing i have ever done. My wrist are under allot of pressure and general uncomfort with the position but im sure with time i will get used to it. Right knee giving me some trouble... lets see how it goes.

Still bending knees first but im trying to get used to the new bar position.

On this one you can see where the bar is on my back. Is it too low? I am learning forwards an awfull lot.

difficult to say if it is too low, does it feel solid there? If there was no danger of slipping, lower bar position would actually help you stay upright, but mentally if you are scared of the bar slipping down you tend to lean forwards to make it more stable.

Are you pulling the shoulder blades together to create the natural "rack" in your back for the bar? Is the chest tight and full of air? You could keep it more up to encourage more upright position i think.

Aye the knees seem to travel a bit, and you could perhaps use a wee bit more depth. I think these two are related. When the knees dont travel forwards like that your depth will automatically be better with the same range of motion. Try sitting back a bit more, hips being the first thing to move (back!) when you start the squat.

Definite improvement there already mate!

Thanks joni. The bar doesn't feel particularly solid, if you look on the lighter set of squats the bar slips down when i am about to rack it which pulls on my wrists even more. Will wrist wraps help with the pain on my wrists? Also i can't get to full depth yet due to a lack of flexibility with the wider stance. My hips and groin are the things that are tight. What stretches and excercises will help with the flexibility?

I don't understand why you're going so wide, I think you should bring it in a fair bit and not turn your toes out quite as much.

Click on edit post to see how I embedded the videos mate!

Cheers rob, will make sure to bring the stance in.

Bench press
50kg x 8
70kg x 6
85kg x 5 x5 x5 x5 x7(big PB seeing as last week i failedon the 6th rep)
80kg x 3(paused)
70kg x 6(paused)

Incline bench press
50kg x 8
55kg x 8
60kg x 5
65kg x 5
67.5kgx 5
70kg x 3(more improvement)
50kg x 5

Very close grip dips(for triceps)
BW-20kg x 6
BW-10kg x 4
BW-5kg x 3
BW-20kg x 6

wide cable flies to actively stretch
35kg x 6
45kg x 8 x8
30kg x 10

Very good session today, a 2 rep PB on the bench and some good improvement on the incline. I did too many sets on the incline but that is only because i failed on 65kg last week so wanted to take it slower but 70kg went up for an easy 3. I wanted to incorporate a little bit more tricep work into the day and it seems the close grip dips worked nicely.

Platform deadlifts
60kg x 8
100kg x 8
120kg x 6
132.5kg x 5 x5 x5 x5 x5
100kg x 8

Rack pulls (first try)
100kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 3
150kg x 3
160kg x 3
100kg x 5

Wide grip pulldown
60kg x 8
87kg x 8
95kg x 8
105kg x 4
60kg x 8(very slow ascent and descent)

The platform deads were pretty good with a couple of grinders towards the end. Had my first go at rack pulls, it feels strange pulling the weight from that height but i will get used to it. Chalk is working nicely, no more sliced open hands for meHappy.

Military press
40kg x 6
50kg x 5
55kg x 5 x5 x4 x5 x5
40kg x 6
20kg x 8

Than variouse tricep work for reps of 6's and 8's.

Sore from yesterday and some real grinders on the military press, missed the 5th on the 3rd set of 55 and the last rep on the 5th set took about 4 seconds to come up leaving me really struggling the the set of 40 after. Thought i would leave the skull crushers out and stick to the cable stuff for triceps. I want to go onto 3's in the next 2-3 weeks. Im thinking of doing 3-4 sets of 3reps on the same weight type of thing much like a 5x5. What would you guys reccomend?
