I competed in the Commonwealth trials of 1998 and i think i hit 125kg and 145kg for 270kg .. no where near qualifying though :-) Team England was very strong back then . Every member of team ENG returned from CG1998 with at least one medal .. 69kg Stewart Cruikshank 130kg Snatch (Silver Medal) 85kg Leon Griffin 155kg Snatch (Silver Medal) Leon Griffin 192.5kg Clean and Jerk (Gold Medal) Steven Ward 157.5kg Snatch (Gold Medal) Steven Ward 187.5kg Clean and Jerk (Silver Medal) 94kg Andy Callard 190kg Clean and Jerk (Silver Medal) Anthony Arthur 152.5kg (Silver Medal) 105kg Tommy Yule 160kg Snatch (Silver Medal) Tommy Yule 190kg Clean and Jerk (Silver Medal) Karl Grant 187.5kg Clean and Jerk (Bronze Medal) Supers Giles Greenwood Silver and Bronze (No Vids) Welsh Boys - Sugdens very own Tony Morgan Snatching 130kg for a Bronze medal in the 69kg .. And his Bro Dave got a Silver with 145kg in 77kg

Can still nail the snatch Member 168, 758 posts SQ 205, BP 90, DL 202.5 497.5 kgs @ 74kgs UnEq	I got slagged off for lifting for Wales a few times but the silly thing about it was the person who said it would have then probably not have been on the England team if I lifted for England instead !!!

Whooo Controversy ! Kev Stuart got the chance to lift for Scotland turned it down and never went to any Games. I trained with two other lads in my weight category Can Osman and Julian McWatt and i was totalling around 20kg more than both . One went to the Commonwealth Games for Cyprus and one to the Olympics for Guyana through grandparents and fair play to them both for doing so . Just lift the barbells bollox to patriotism !!!

Just lift the barbells bollox to patriotism !!! then Kev was a bit silly although i thought Scotland only let you lift for them if you lived in Scotland - point in fact a scotish lifter moved to england after lifting for them for years then couldnt ?
