Working those mobility gains so i can rack the axle on my shoulders rather than having to hold the weight in mid air. | ||

Hanging knee raises, 3 x 10. Alternate incline DB press, 3 x 15. Alternate DB skull crushers, 12, 8. Banded triceps pushdowns, 20, 20. Took the weekend off to get rid of the cold that was pestering me most of last week. Feeling fresh today and only 2 weeks out from EMPM so had to put at least a few sets in on comp weight. Still working hard to improve my rack position but that won't be comp ready in 2 weeks so got to remain mong strong still. | ||

Plate pinch/bw hangs 20 x 20s/20s/15s rest - 4 sets. 23/9 Step ups/hanging leg raises/banded glute kickbacks Cambered bar paused squats 105, 145, 185, 225, Belt, 245 x 2. Hold, 105 x 60s. Wide stance cambered bar squats - 10s eccentrics/calf raises 105 - 2 supersets. Apparently i forgot to update yesterday, mostly it was just trying a nes technique for stupid high loading. I'll be trying it again with stones on Sunday all being well. Legs today but got a few niggles so didn't push too hard. Also hit a good amount of balance and mobility stuff. | ||

Things not moving quite as well as I'd like, but it's a fairly light show so I should be ok. | ||

I really need a more efficient clean to allow me to get more reps in without running out of time. 145kg farmers Won the event with 19.8s or so. Very comfortable. Could have gone a bit quicker but i was confident neither of the guys in the final pair would be faster than me. 280kg deadlift 2nd place with a nice comfortable 10 reps. Sean Logan pulled 12 but I knew the final two events were going to be the decider so i just did enough for 2nd. 300kg Conans wheel Found out just before going out that I'd actually trained this at 360 not 300 so felt pretty confident i could go well. Si knowles was winning with 1.75 rotations and as soon as I started I knew i had that beat. A little passed 2 circuits I felt a twinge in my left hamstring. Went a little further but put it down before it started feeling too heavy to ensure i could go reasonably hard on stones. As it happens the final athlete fell a little short of 2 so i won by about half a circuit. Stone run I had a nice cushion by this point (4pts) and only Logan had finished it so i did a fairly sedate 4 to try and minimise the load on my hamstring and finished the event in 3rd. Overall 1st and after years of training together and getting beaten by him i finally beat Sean in what's likely his final comp on UK soil. | ||
