Last night, 101kg

Clean and jerk
Was supposed to be 2 cleans, 1 jerk for 6 sets on 95. Failed the first set on the cleans (was also my first time ever using belt for cleans) due to timing issues. Took the belt off, dropped down to 80 worked up again and did 95 for 8 singles. Timing and coordination was absolutely terrible, don't know what was going on. It was also pretty hard standing up from the cleans for some reason?! Didn't miss any though.

Damn cleans! My pull is getting better, my squats are getting better, just can't put the two together in the clean.

Really good session, snatches felt easy. And the clean recoveries were a piece of cake, I was actually catching them strong for once. Jerks nice and fast too. Feeling confident of opening at least this heavy. Will do some accessory work tonight, maybe some pulls or power stuff as well related to the clean. Thursday will go a bit heavier on the snatch and C&J, probably won't max out though unless I'm feeling great.

Woke up at 530 this morning annoyingly, so spent some time stretching. Really helps with not feeling completely stiff during the day.

Well yesterday's additional morning stretch did nothing to stop me feeling like s**t last night.

Did some power cleans on 70kg to work on tech.

Then push press up to 85kg, missed 87.5.

RDLs 3x5 on 100kg

Feel like I've been hit by a bus today!

Really tired last night, everything felt heavy. Should be all good come comp day though. Shoulder was giving me a bit of grief on the jerks, similar to what I had a while ago, hence the pressout. Squats were the most I've done in a good long while, was happy with them.

Cheers. 140x5 doesn't feel as far away as I thought initially. The high reps have built a good base Tongue (also the extra 3kg of BW...)

High bar obviously Tongue Literally haven't done low bar since the British in October 2013 lol. Only a tapered belt as well, not a PL one.

Not a great confidence booster!! Was wanting to open around 84. the 100 CJ was a bit shaky. Guess we'll see what happens on the day, nothing to be done now.

Last night just snatched up to 65 and CJ'd up to 70. Jerks were slow, shoulder still giving a bit of grief. Woke up with a sore throat this morning, hope it's not the start of a cold. Trying to nip it in the bud now.

Yesterday

LSE Series 1

Weighed in at 100.15kg.

Snatch
Warmed up to 83 no misses, bit shaky up until the 83 warmup though.
83 - good lift. Ridiculously close to missing it though, rocked back on to my heels but managed to save it.
88 - good lift, comp PB. Better than the first
91 - no lift, messed up the pull and went flying over my head. Felt heavy!

C&J
Had barely any time to get warmed up. Literally did bar x 2, then 60, 70, 80, 90, 95 in the space of 7 or 8 minutes. Pushed my opener to 101 to give me a bit of extra time.
101 - good lift
108 - good lift
111 - no lift, missed the jerk after a tough clean!

196kg total (PB) @ 100kg BW. 218 sinclair which is equal best.

Happy to get the PB, was hoping to get to 200 though. My clean and jerks have not improved in so long, will start focusing on front squats a lot more. Will probably do the texas method. It's embarrassing that I'm 100kg and struggling to stand with 110kg cleans!! Next comp is 4 weeks away in Woking so not much time to do a proper buildup. Got this week off whilst I'm away so should be fresh when I come back.

Let me know how the Texas method works. I've heard only good things.

I've done it before for front squats before I started weightlifting and it worked great. Got up to 112.5x5 - ironically now that I actually front squat and clean more often I've never been able to match that. Go figure eh.

I basically just think an extra session of front squats will be what is needed to bring them up, and texas method is a tried and tested linear progression. If it doesn't work might have to try something a bit more extreme like the catalyst one.
