This was a pleasant surprise today...I only really push press once a month or so but it keeps going up....maybe 170 next month!

400lbs push press would be immense.

Definitely 170 in the near future, that first 160F was a fluke, the second went up smoothly. That's some strong push-pressing.

Back squat pb

Push press pb

Hand in hand

Well done!

I like how you used your back in that lift too!

HA I was really trying not to! It's funny because it'such an improvement over how it was previously, yet still so obvious to someone with a weightlifters eye!

Thanks everyone!

I don't think for one minute using your back to generate power towards the bar is in any way a technical fault whereby the lifter is able to do so

What are you supposed to do?

Feel free to use the word perfect because when you do something in the manner that gets the best out of your tools and collective strengths then that's bob on

You could have done it slightly differently but you also could have took 30kg off the bar too!

The potential self critiquing is fine, JW said the same after the British champs in rowing re perceived technical shortcomings... I just say well done

Cheers guys!

Mike, watching other people do other things and seeing how many different variables and methods of overcoming genetic shortcomings you see....I agree. Happy

It's a bit like when someone deadlifts around the same as their squat, and when someone deadlifts 100kg more than thei squat. One of them has something pretty f**king wrong with them....and I can't figure out which one!

I improve by about 10kg a year at most, you've gone 40kg in no time!

Don't think you can call yourself skinny anymore.

When I did 120, it wasn't necessarily the first time i'd done the movement but it probably was the first time in 2 years...and yeah, adding 8kg bodyweight helps! Squat is probably up 30kg since I did 120, bench will be up 40kg ish....yeah probably all adds up Wink

Still got 10kg bodyweight to go before I'm not skinny I think...but depends on who's standards. I guess if I was sprinting i'd be considered a HUGE_GUY, well at least as big as Kim Collins anyway.

Yea, by sprinters standards you are pretty big! Even my size, i have a little bit of quad and back muscle so everyone asks if im a rugby player and say im too big to jump. Gets annoying.

I forget, what i think is big some of the behemoths here will laugh at.

Seriously impressive tom! Made the 2nd 160 look easy even after a failure!
