Post Edited: 25.04.2010 @ 17:21 PM by martinb Unit todayLog 95kg for 3reps, 102.5kg for 3reps, 107.5kg for 5reps, 5th rep forgot to jerk, and basically strict pressed it set up a crazy truck pull style thing with chains 550kg ish of chain, managed 15m pretty fast chains + 22.5kg on a sled, 2 or 3m then I thought the harness would cut me in half so stopped medley, 220kg yoke for 10m, 300kgish tyre 4 flips, then load 100kg stone and 100kg keg to 50inches(I think) 1 min failed at the 117kg stone, which was worrying, but managed it easy a few mins later grip hold on the deadlift frame with the big tyre, 59secs, and last of everyone

baldy said:Smolov : Week 3 : Day 1 ------------------------ Not many of the Saturday Crew at the unit only Stevie and Mike. Warmups & Stretch Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 2x3 80kg, 4x9 102.5kg - twisted something in my right lat during the first warm up set with 80kg. Was my own fault did not brace my core. Anyway its not sore when I belt up and brace myself properly. Squat technique felt better today, slower more controlled reps, most pretty comfy. Stumbled forward on one rep again. Puffing between sets. OH strict Press: 10xbar , 5x40kg, 8x47.5kg, 5x50kg, 3x55kg, 2+3 57.5kg Might do a back to back session tomorrow, so I had an "ice" bath when I got home. 10 minutes in the bath, alternating 1 minute with chest and then legs, harder than the workout. Hopefully will wake up feeling awesome tomorrow. good effort with the ice bath, catch you tomorrow

adamkeep said: I'll go back and look, maybe i am mistaken. I do remember him getting a ton of "bonus" points that year and him being way ahead. Hmmmm.... As for Kaz maybe taking it....not a chance bro. He was good, but not near the level these guys are at. I think even with focusing on strongman and not just showing up to compete like they used to that he still wouldn't win it. He was strong, but certainly not athletic enough. I don't think we really know how athletic he was, cause we never saw him do the things we see the modern guys do Be honest, if you didn't know about bigZ and you just saw him, would you think there was any chance he could be as athletic as he is? And Kaz looks a hell of alot more athletic than bigZ!

adamkeep said: Vasyl won because the prior qualifier points were tossed out going into the finals. Pudz should have won hands down, even with the placings he had in the finals he would have been way ahead at the end. as for the winner I think it depends on the time i guess. If it were early 2000's Pudz he would mop the floor with a lot of those guys, but right now i would have to say Z would win it all. He is just in amazing shape right now. I just really meant that Vasyl had been overlooked, in the earlt 2000's he was always there or thereabouts. I thought Vasyl won the year Pudz was stripped of 3rd for some sort of failed drugs test? Anyway, agree with what you say about the winner, I still think it would depend on the type of events(alot hevier generally now than in the 90's) personally I would love to see Ahola vs Pudz on the mobilty based events, and BigZ up angainst mad Kaz on something static

no offence to Terry, but I'd have to have Vasyl Virastyuk in stead of him he is a WSM winner after all other than that, I couldn't really argue with the line up
