I have never tried to lift a stone in my life and I never will. I can see how tacky helps with the lift but I would have thought not glueing yourself to a stone would reduce the chance of bicep injury as the stone would slide off the arm as you lose control of it and glueing yourself to it would increase it as it would not slide and drag allsorts with it as it went.
Assuming I am wrong (and I very often am) could someone explain why ?

This is the way I see it also Pete

Of.course
I know.it reduces risk.of bicep injury
Personally.I wouldn't get them.off the ground without tacky anyway

The Christies (Scottish strongmen brothers) never used tacky, could do 160 sans tacky easy. No biceps tears

Do we actually know lifting stonez without tacky ends in bicep tears or is it something we accept cause we're told it?

Machine nonsense

The hard bit was the walk to the gym and back in the 30kg vest

two top guys have died in ten years.
Your comment lacks substance.
Edit: More top level football players have died than top level strongman in the past ten years.

There have only been about 30 top strongmen in the last ten years, as opposed to thousands of footballers

and was Perry more than 10 years ago? If not, thats 3

And he will definitely win the dumbbell, hasn't he done 6 reps of the 120 dumbbell before? No one else comes near that.

We all thought he would win the db at last years arnolds, he didn't, iirc

Not at all. Our weights we send in before the comp. I was actually lighter by the time wsm started than I was listed at. We all knew it was gonna be hot and humid in china so went in slightly lighter.
Those weights and heights are sent in by us some guys lie, some don't. Generally the guys were all a bit lighter to deal with the humidity

Haha, I wanted a conspiracy!

I think they had Shaw at under 170, I know he was leaner than previous years but surely not that light?

looked like he was wearing a deadlift suit under top

It wasn't a suit; it was the strap markings from the truck pull where he used chalk to stop it slipping about

Terry said it was a suit

Why would they do that?
Have to say I loved the final.
Frame was something that sorted the men out from the boys so to speak. Shame it was tearing hands but it was the same for everyone and not everyone tore them?

Make the guys seem less unhealthy?
