Another two workouts to catch up on. Took it fairly easy on Friday although nothing's really easy at this point. Sunday was cool, grip on farmers was solid and the axle is sure to become my new favourite toy, holding that thing above your head is really really cool.

Friday 9th February

CG Bench
60kg x 10
80kg x 5
100kg x 5
110kg x 3
115kg x 3
120kg x 2
125kg x 1
110kg x 4
105kg x 5,5

Push Press/Split Jerk
50kg x 3/3
60kg x 3/3
70kg x 3/3,3/3,3/3

Dumbell Shoulder Press
27.5kg x 5
37.5kg x 5,4

Chins
Bw x 5
15kg x 5,5,5

Sunday 11th March

Log
70kg x quite a few
80kg x 1
85kg x 1
90kg x 1
95kg x 0 - got a vid of this, and it was very noticeable that im jumping back on my drive for the press, meaning that im leaving it out front and stopping me from getting my head through. I need to work on this. Still, like Joni said, its better than just not being strong enough.

Farmers Walk/Holds
Bars x 40m
70kg x 40m
110kg x 40m - 29s
130kg x hold - 55 seconds - pretty chuffed with that, I think there's plenty more to come too

Axle - 60mm
75kg x for a couple of sets of one clean and 2 presses. This thing is fun. Im gonna work on power cleaning it rather than continentalling it. I guess 100kg has to be the goal.
Went on to do deadlifts (mixed grip):
115kg x 5
155kg x 5
180kg x 3
200kg x 3

We then bolloxed ourselves with a medley consisting of 120kg farmers for 20m and a 150kg sled drag for 20m. Nailed the farmers in 14.9 seconds but that sled destroyed me. Got it over halfway but that f**ker was hard. On concrete it was pretty easy but once we got in the grass with a slight hill, it was crazy hard. Millsy showed us just how hard it was when he didnt race through it despite not doing the farmers first. Finished off by bringing the sled back 20m after Millsy had finished.

Good, fun session. I love the axle.

Wow, well impressive lifting! You must have excellent grip strength.

Do you find wrist wraps help Olly? What length are yours?

Cheers

David, im a big fan of wrist wraps, probably shouldnt be so relient on them but I dont really mind. Ive only got one pair of wrists and they take one hell of a beating!

My grip strength is ok, well behind Millsy though on the axle. Lets hope not for long....Grin

Tuesday 13th March

Floor Press
60kg x 10
80kg x 5
100kg x 5
110kg x 3
115kg x 1
120kg x 1
122.5kg x 1
125kg x 1
115kg x 3,2

Seated Overhead Press - from top of head, pin 8
50kg x 5
70kg x 5
80kg x 5
90kg x 5
95kg x 3
100kg x 1
80kg x 9

Liked this movement, think I'll work it in for a while.

Dumbell Inclines
32.5kg x 8,8,8

Finished off with 3 sets of 20 very light side raises. My right shoulder has been giving me a lot of pain since Sunday, this was to try and get some bloody moving.

Wednesday 14th March

Deadlifts
60kg x 10
100kg x 5
140kg x 3
180kg x 1
200kg x 1 - sharp pain in my right shoulder so stopped there, could do with a deload on my deadlifts anyway so its probably all good.

Seeing as I wasnt going to pull heavy decided to squat for the first time in f**king ages. They felt alright considering. The plan is for the squats to just poodle along for a while, no real goals. Just take any progress as it comes.

Squats
60kg x 8
90kg x 5
110kg x 5
125kg x 5
135kg x 3
145kg x miss, head just wasnt in it

Front Squats
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 5

Shrugs - double overhand
60kg x 10
80kg x 10
100kg x 10
120kg x 10
140kg x 10
160kg x 6

Lets hope the shoulder heals nice and fast.

Friday 16th March

Close Grip Bench
60kg x 10
80kg x 5
100kg x 5
110kg x 3
115kg x 3,3,3,3,3 - quite pleased with this, and it didnt bother my shoulder

Push Press/Front Squat well the bars there, so why not?!
50kg x 5/5
70kg x 2/5
80kg x 2/5 (for 5 sets)

Machine Rows
Stack x 8,8,8 - underhand grip and done very slowly. The furthest range of motion hurts here

Sunday 18th March - strongman sunday!

Log
70kg x lots
80kg x 3
85kg x 1
90kg x 1
95kg x a lot of misses, working different techniques, trying to get a feel for the weight on my chest as well. I'll nail this soon.
70kg x 3 - split jerks
80kg x 2 - split jerks

Farmers Walks/Holds
70kg x 40m
100kg x 40m
120kg x ~28m, put them down as I couldnt breath and I felt battered, thats enough walking
130kg x ~30 seconds hold, not for a max as that was hurting my shoulder
150kg x 30 seconds PB, again, not a max, I also needed help with pick up

Stones - to 54 inch (highest ive tried)
105kg x 1 - This was a big PB mainly as its the first stone ive loaded without tacky, also first stone to 54in
130kg x 1 PB
140kg x 1 PB
150kg x 0,1 PB! Well chuffed with this!
105kg x a couple of half arsed attempts to do reps, but i was battered by then

Walk of Pain Simulation
120kg x ~25m, 15m - just getting a feel for the movement. Using a loading pin makes it bloody hard to walk!

Good session for the stones and holds, although I think I have some more in there on the holds. I really need to get this shoulder sorted. IT's the only thing holding back my training, although doesnt really seem to bother my pressing!

Great session Olly. You are the king of the high platforms (for now).

Don't get complacent though as there is a fire burning inside my belly for next week! Big Shawn is coming up and I'm going to show you all who the king of the farmers is - f**k the shin, it's boring not training properly.

Big shawn talking of a 400kg yoke attempt! Eek

Awesome session Olly - it may have not felt like it (until the stones) but reading back it was a great day again.
