I shouldn’t really have benched again, bleedin 4th lot in 8 days, but its hard to say no to the little blondie.

dont blame you...

When is she competing again? Is she doing the BWLA nationals this year or just nailing BDFPA comps?

And good squatting Matt! 300 is nicely above your current pb of 1kg.

Lol cheers Joni, yeah a 299kg PB, nice! Same again next week and I may have somthing to shout about with my squat.

She is lifting in Ireland for the BDFPA Europeans in about 8-9 weeks. Her bench is on the up, did 3 sets x 5 with 70kgs (80kg single is the current WR). She holds the squat and deadlift records already but will break them again, deffo on for the 180 pull.

I think she is planning on doing the BWLA comps next year for some competition and to go equipped, she has stolen my 2m knee wraps already. Can't wait to see the numbers she moves equipped, very, very strong gal!

I went out with a girl last week, she told me she wanted to be 'treated like a Princess'

So I put her in the back of a Mercedes and drove it into a wall.Eek

180 x 2
220 x 2
kit on
260 x 2 straps down
280 x 2
280 x 2

Form was a lot better today, was far more in control of the weight. I lowered the bar about an inch on my back and it made a hell of a difference, was able to generate far more power = good.

400 x 5
480 x 5
560 x 5

Leg Curl
Stack x 5 x 3

Leg Extension
Stack x 5 x 3

Afternoon and evening training – 5th May

It was the annual Jnr vs Snr game at my older bros rugby club (I played there for about 5 years previously too) so I decided to pop down.

Ended up having several protein Guinness’s finally making it into double figures around 9pm. Left at around 1 to head for a carb based ruby snack. This was swiftly followed by a second ruby due to me not feeling I had taken on enough calories this day.

I am feeling the effects of this post workout workout today and feel it is something that must be added for several more sets and reps each week.

7th May

Bench

Got me a very used single ply fury to try out, been used in 3 comps so far, nice and easy to get on lol.

Raw
100 x 5
140 x 5
Shirt on
180 x 1 – Tough to touch, can’t have it pulled down with this weight but the press is nice and safe.
200 x 1 – Felt fine
210 x 1 – Shirt was pulled right down for this with belt on, at the heavier weight it feels like the shirt does fook all! But again, its safe and this is just to play in for the moment

Close Grips
140 x 5
150 x 5
160 x 5

Wide Bench
100 x 20

Dumbbell Shoulder Press
50kg x 6
60kg x 6
70kg x 6

Some other gay crap!

And done!

When are you lifting next Matt - are you going to do that one in Folkestone to qualify for the British?

You could chuck on some kit and qualify tomorrow if you needed to...

Yep doing Folkestone Porky ole chap.

Gonna be using my boss suit with no breifs and I am probably going to sod off the metal king pro deadlifter as it does nothing for me, gonna try out boss breifs tommorow to see how they are instead and just chuck a singlet over the top.

that sounds like an interesting thing to try! In my very short burst of equipped squatting i hated the tight straps the most, felt like they were pulling me out of balance. Could swear i would lift more with straps down!

I mean to deadlift Joni, my straps on the Boss suit are loose at the moment anyway, haven't tightened them yet until i sort out my squat.
I get nothing from the deadlfit suits though, I only like them tight when at the bar, i don't like having to lockout against a suit too.
