those that have used this, there is a little clip on the side of the wheel, with numbers 1-10, think it is some sort of resistance, what level do u guys put it on then.

your supposed to set up the dynamo thing so its at 80-100 thingys per whatever as thats closest to rowing on water, however thats normally between 6 and 7 on a concept 2, however i normally do it on 8 or 9

I used to use 6-7 for the longer endurance based rows - we used to do these brutal Sat morning sessions where we'd row for 1hr keeping the split under 1:55 throughout.

For the shorter sprints I'd set the resistance at 8

For resistance I always use level 10.

Yeah this is pretty much how I use it, I'm rowing for a club at the moment (it is a s**tty sport full of toffs, but I really like lycra and crappy weight circuits)

Go to Main Menu->Other Options->Display Drag Factor and start rowing. Adjust the lever till the drag is what you want. I go for 130 simply because that was recommended to me. Maybe bigger guys might want a bit more drag. If you stick it to 10 all the time you lose the ability to adjust to take into account differences in machines. It's not a big deal if you're just looking for a cardio hit, but if you're trying to see how you are progressing the difference in machine could be a problem.

What resistance you set it to doesn't change how much work you put in to get a fast time, it just changes the feel of the exercise.

Maybe I'm being thick, but surely if it 'feels' harder Wink you end up doing more work?

500m - 1min 29.9seconds

1000m - 3min 30.4seconds

5000m - 19mins 59.3seconds

These were all done in the last couple of weeks after a long lay off from cardio so I'll be looking to improve on them very soon.

I need to get fitter so I can convert my obvious speed superiority over Boar to total dominance of him over any distanceGrin

I might have a bash at this at some point. I think I got my 500m to 1:48 or something like that last year.
