Hey ho..new journal and hopefully some new motivation. Just got back from Lanzarote where I consumed much food, beer and rum. Training starts again tomorrow Grin. Going to put some solid graft in with 5 x 5 and more volume and shorter rest periods than before. Plenty of cardio too. Might even go the whole hog and put in some training vids!!

We're having a building refurb at work and the gym has now gone. That means no more early morning sessons Unhappy . On the plus side it means I can now justify paying to go to a half decent gym.

Right then, did a wee bit of cardio yesterday lunchtime. Did a couple of laps around the park near work. Probably took about 20 mins. Should probably be able to do it in 10...

Yesterday evening

Bench
warmed up to
5 sets of 5 at 100

CGBP off pins
3 x 5 at 120

Dips
3 x 10 at BW

pullover and press
3 x 8 at 30
(shoulders complain about this so going light to start)

OH triceps extension
3 x 8 at 60

tricep pushdown
3 x 8 at 60

once i'd finished the CGBP rest periods were a minute or so (not exact)

Really enjoyed it after some time out. Chest and tris are starting to get DOMS already though Unhappy

Hi Phil,

Don't think i'll be doing PSUK this year, partly as entries have to be in on the 1st September and partly as I'll have a little baby by then and a month of no sleep isn't conducive to heavy lifting!

5 sets of 5 at 150. Nothing of note on the weight really, but they felt hard enough

Fronties
3 x 5 at 80

leg press
3 x 8 at 300

sled squats
3 x 8 at 60

leg extension
3 x 8 at 80

plus assorted goblet and sissy squats

standing calf raise
3 x 8

seated calf raise
3 x 8

So that was the first leg training in a while. Not anything heavy, but that will come...am still walking like i've crapped myself though

some cardio this lunchtime...

lap or so of the park - 10 mins
sprints - 10 mins
bit more jogging and stretching - 10 mins

felt absolutely horrendous thanks to the DOMS in my quads

not quite mate,the squats were on Friday..still, with this cardio work I fully expect to be in the Olympic Dragons 2011

Deadlifts today...again, no fireworks with the weights, but they all felt nice and strong and not bad for a first sesh

Deadlift
warmed up to:
5 sets of 5 at 180 (felt pretty easy apart from the last couple of reps) Grin

lying leg curl

Lat pulldown
3 x 8

standing leg curl

3 x 6 (each arm)

GH raise
3 x 5 @ BW

calf raise
3 x 8

seat calf raise
3 x 8

leg raise
3 x 8

(the last 3 exercises were supersetted)
