no way I'm ditching it I payed nearly £50 for it ,for that money its got to break my ribs to get ditched!
AvatarFinch
£50 for an Inzer lever belt. That was a bargain. Mine cost nearly £80. But then it is XXXL compared to your medium. Seriously though, stick with it, it took me about 3 months to work mine into my gut grooves.
AvatarEDCLARKE
there's amuch better exchange rate with the states at the moment,I think it's as much my s**t squatting style as the belt,I bend forward too much at the waist and the belt doesnt give at all so it just sort of grinds the ribs from about 2 inches above paralell!

bench press 85k 5/5/5 relatively comfy 100k/1not comfy at all
close grips 72.5/5 75/5 77.5/5
Jerks 50kx1 60kx1 70kx1 80kfail 80kx1
face pulls 15/15/15
random bicep pumping medley x lots

good session today played around with grip widths on the bench and found a slightly narrower grip seems to suit me better than the max legal I had been using the 85k's were all pretty comfortable definitely a couple more reps there went for 100k as a bit of a confidence booster and it turned into a bit of a grinder
but pleased to press it out eventually,a month ago i was wondering if I'd ever be able to bench anything heavy !
Tried jerks for the first time today ,just did singles to see where I was at with them pretty pleased with 80k ,next week will be 3's and 5's ,short term target is to try and get to 100k by the xmas meet up!

Deadlift 160x5 170x4 180x3 170x4 130x10 last set was supposed to be 160x5 but iwas f**ked so did a bit of speed work instead!
front squat 82.5k 5/5/5
power cleans 60k/5 70k/5 80k/3
power snatch 40x3 bar xloads
over head squat bar x couldnt f**king do it at all ,far to hard for an uncoordinated t**t like me!

even more respect for olympic lifters after trying an overhead squat is this the most difficult exercise ever?

really struggled with the olympic stuff today felt totally f**ked after the deadlifts ,i wonder if i might be better doing the olympic stuff first and using them as a warm up for the deadlifts and drop the working sets for the deads to 3,any advice would be appreciated!

Do whatever is most important to you first.
AvatarNeil
Wey hey, deadlifts at last! Not bad going ... but I thought you were going to be following Rob's planned progression towards 220?
AvatarEDCLARKE
I think that will be too much too soon for me to be honest Neil ! so i 'm just going to add2.5k a week to this ,I'm find repping deadlifts f**king kills me ,but singles are not too bad when I did 210k my best reps was 185x2 so If i can get too 190x3/4 i reckon with a bit of rest and loads of food Ill be ok for 220!
I reckon If you do 220 I'm going to have to do at least 225 to really equal it since yours will be done with standard plates! watched the vids of your 170's and you definitely look like you've got more pop off the floor than me ,so i may be looking for a miracle ,think Ill start taking creatine next week i keep doing the loading and then forget to take it ,its costing me a fortune!
AvatarNeil
Fair enough, it's going to be hard work doing that progression but overall I think it'll be worth it for me just in terms of sheer strength and improving my deadlifting whether I get my 220 then or not, I WILL get it one day soon no matter what!

Yeah creatine costs but I bought some cheap ages ago and I now make sure I take just 3-5g/day every day. Also I'm trying to do well on my food. I only weigh 87.5 atm, so it's not as if I haven't got room to add a little more bulk in there somewhere. Plus it is winter! Beach abs can wait... heh.

Seriously for me (and I reckon for almost anyone) if I keep an eye on my diet (i.e. eat enough!) then the strength can come. If not then I'm just wasting my time to a certain extent. I want us BOTH to pull 220 on the 22nd, so my advice to you is EAT!
