Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17900 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Monday 26th April, start 17:15. Late start due to having to weigh certain items of kit kust to make sure. All is well, panic over. Squat, new suit, no wraps, no belt, straps down, all kilos 70 x 5 70 x 5 70 x 5 70 x 5 straps up 105 x 5 105 x 5 105 x 5 quite a bit of scraping on the legs during these, but I'm in it now 145 x 5 185 x 5 wraps on 225 x 3 235 x 3 245 x 3 All good and fluent and deep, in fact the last set was so deep that DrRick who spots me regularly was sure I had mad a balls of it and wasn't going to get up, he was about to make his move when up I popped jack Quick. Even Alan commented on that set. Felt much happier in myself this week rather than last and I anticipate feeling a shade better next week than this. That isn't based on anything tangible, but I feel it will be the case. End 18:30 and offski

Stylish I am not, elegant I am not, but right from the word go you can tell they help. I suspect that they are a keeper, hopefully some modicum of finesse will appear from somewhere, not sure where, if not, bollox to it, we shall press on regardless. End 17:45

still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14374 posts | Pete (& Rick for that matter), what you guys are doing are split cleans. Nothing less than a power clean and has just as much worth for you two, but you split to receive rather than dip. Not massively important but some t**t is going to point this out at some point so it may as well as be me and now. Love you both x x x

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17900 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Monday, 3rd May, Bank holiday, start 14:45 Bit of a mixed bag of a day today, it started splendidly as Big Phil, who made the splendid squat racks had been in over the weekend to make a couple of improvements, so now we have some very splendid squatracks. New suit, straps down, naked knees, no belt, all kilograms 60 x 5 60 x 5 60 x 5 60 x 5 straps up 125 x 5 wraps on 165 x 5 205 x 5 230 x 2 245 x 2 260 x 2 245 x 3 Now I have tales to tell, firstly the suit, although technically the new one really has had it's day. The sooner the new, new one comes the better, I can hit depth and good depth at that with 125 with the straps up, It is rapidly becoming a rather hardy leotard. Secondly all squats today were of excellent depth as DrRick commented "if you keep them there, provided you get up, you will never see ared light again" Splendid news I call that. Thirdly on the 260 I stood too far through the bar on the pickup, as a result I very nearly fell backwards, I just managed to be a bit of pressure through the heels and steadied it, but it was a foolish thing to do. Considering I must have done this some tens of thousands of times, I do astonish myself that I can still make a balls of it. Fourthly, on the last 245 I over thought it and walked out ok but didn't steady myself before starting the descent, but I managed, the first one was a bit of a dog's breakfast but the second two were fine. So there you have it, never take anything for granted and don't think too much and just because you've done sonething a squillion times don't think it just happens. I have to make it happen. Handsome Jeff rolled in just as we finished, so we stayed to watch a short, sharp and quitexplosive workout which was a pleasure to watch. Then off to the pub for a diet coke, beef pie, chips and mushy peas so mushy you could have poured them into a glass and drunk them, lovely, damned fine pie too.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17900 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | I also experimented with the wraps tonight. Normally I do six times around the knee which leaves quite a handy sized piece to push through at the end. I went for a seventh wrap tonight but didn't have enough to push through so had to abort. I therefore tried a six wrap with seven wrap tightness but I couldn't get my soddin' fingers under the penultimate wrap to push through. We solved this tonight by having Phil but his fingers on the wrap after the fifth and wrapping the sixth one over him then he just pulls up already having his fingers underneath. This worked very well. I enjoyed the extra tightness but may have to experiment further in case there is a lack of assistance one day.

not old ..... experienced. Member 170, 517 posts SQ 270, BP 180, DL 270720.0 kgs @ 125kgs Eq | Try this for tighter knee wraps: I use a wire coat hanger to pull the last bit of wrap through.
