We both had stinkers, in all fairness craig was in bed with fever until 24 hours out, I just had a bad one no particular reason Grin He hit 535kg at 79kg. His best in comp is still 555kg at 79kg in just a belt.

Both of us are at the BUCS so i'll see you there!Happy

Todays session (18/10/09)

1) IPF SQUAT (MED STANCE, MID BAR, CLOSE GRIP, OL SHOES, BELT)

1x3@60kg (sexual)
1x3@80kg ('' '')
1x3@100kg (" ")
1x3@120kg
1x3@140kg
1x3@150kg
1x3@160kg
1x3@170kg
1x3@180kg
1x1@180kg (paused)
1x1@190kg (paused - http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=...837&ref=mf)
1x1@200kg (back to wide stance after some stretching...a good 2-3" below parallel and mission accomplished )

2) PAUSED CLOSE GRIP BENCH (12")

1x3@60kg
1x3@80kg
1x3@100kg
2x2@112.5kg (PB)
1x1@112.5kg (missed second, bicep tendon hurting on descent)

3) DEADLIFT

1x1@140kg
1x1@180kg
1x1@220kg
1x1@260kg (well that was quick and easy)

4) EZ TRICEP PRESS

2x15

5) PLANK

2 sets of 60 seconds

NOTES;

Productive. After some very aggressive adductor and glute medius stretching I've changed the initial analysis, wide is gay but definitely a possibility assuming I can keep the closer hand grip (a bit nasty on the bicep tendon but has advantages for depth). It does allow for a rapid descent which is a big plus for me. Gona have to start pressing before squats for training at this rate...bicep tendon doesn't like squats.

Todays session (20/10/09)

1) IPF SQUAT

1x3@60kg (high bar, 3 second pause until stated otherwise)
1x3@80kg
1x3@100kg
1x3@120kg
1x3@140kg
1x1@165kg
1x1@170kg
1x1@180kg (low bar 3 second paused)
1x1@195kg
1x1@200kg (normal)
1x1@230kg (4th pin)
1x1@255kg (4th pin - MISS)

2) PAUSED BENCH (WITH SIGNALS)

1x5@80kg
1x5@90kg
1x5@100kg
1x5@110kg
1x4@120kg (PB - with no spot either)
1x1@132.5kg (MISS - bit of wishing after the previous set)

3) DEADLIFT

1x1@100kg
1x1@140kg
1x1@180kg
1x1@220kg
1x1@262.5kg (much harder than sunday)

4) STANDING PRESS (PINKY ON RINGS)

3x8@50kg

5) ROW

3x10

6) EZ TRICEP PRESS

3x8

NOTES;

Good session, starting to peice together some decent training again now, the squats are looking good. Aggressive adductor stretching in the arched squat position has paid off quickly. I think I have figured out the missing piece of my squat! We'll see though the next few weeks of training. Time to get some weight back on the bar....

1) IPF SQUAT (FORM WORK)!

1x3@60kg
1x3@80kg
1x3@100kg
1x3@120kg
1x3@140kg
1x3@160kg
1x1@180kg (all sets controlled descent, very upright)

2) RACK PULL (4" OFF THE FLOOR)

1x1@150kg
1x1@200kg
1x1@230kg
1x1@260kg (PB)
1x1@280kg (PB - more in the tank too...300kg fresh?)

NOTES;

Just another quick sess to work on form and things are coming along nicely...deadlift consistency is through the roof right now and handling 90% 3-4 times a week seems to be no problem right now. Just gota get the squat to the same level and then happy days!

1x3@100kg
1x3@120kg
1x3@140kg
1x3@160kg

2) PAUSE BENCH (WITH SIGNALS)

1x5@70kg
1x5@80kg
1x5@90kg
1x5@100kg
1x1@115kg
1x2@125kg (PB - very easy as 'PBs' go, third there perhaps)
3x8@100kg

3) STANDING PRESS (PINKY ON RING)

3x8@50kg

4) BARBELL ROW

4x10

5) OVERHEAD EXTENSION

4x15

NOTES;

Bench felt great today, especially considering I am on more volume than usual right now (alot more upper body work overall). Squat is showing progress each session, depth is a good 3" deeper now and positions are much improved. Not looking forward to the next few weeks training but after BUCS I am gona drop back on the squat and pulls...for snatch, clean and jerk. Grin

You sure like your squats huh mate lol! Best way to get the form down is to hammer them I guess.

Nice job on the bench pb

Gota get them right a few months ago I hit 235kg for 3 in the gym...something went wrong along the way. I even hit 235kg in Welsh nationals comp....then 230kg at Nationals! Just a case of working the form hard and getting things right...I should be hitting 250kg at 100kg really.

Bench is lame but its coming up, I'll aim for 132-135 at British uni's Grin

5x1@180kg (technical work...speed off the floor is lame)

4) STANDING PRESS

5) CHEST SUPPORTED ROWS

6) PAUSED CLOSE GRIP (12")

NOTES;

Just the big bad exercises today, felt good. Didnt feel as strong as earlier in the week when I pulled 280kg off pins from mid shin but ok. The bench flew off the chest! Definitely closing in on 3 plates. Bodyweight is still 103.5kg so things are looking good. 135kg paused next week? Squats are getting better every session I will start to push for PB's again in a week or so once I feel this new form is nailed.

Thanks Steel. Ye my shoulder strength is really subpar so hopefully once I push that up I can hit 140kg. That should push my total into the 680 range once I peak my squat and deadlift out properly.

Thanks JC but my squat PB is 235kg for 3 reps! Since the tendonitus my squat has gone backwards significantly (initially it was load that was the problem so I trained Korte to accumulate volume rather than risk injury). Hopefully in a little while I will squat the 250kg that is well overdue!
