Core and upper legs really sore today, so this was hardwork. Obviously not ideal training legs the day after events, but with overhead moved to wednesday it was the best of the available options.
Managed slightly more total volume than last week, so happy enough, but i expect I'll be paying for it tomorrow.
Final set was actually the easiest of my work sets, no doubt because it was the only one i got myself fired up for.

Made the journey down to Wolverhampton today to get a session in with Chris Morgan and try to steal his secrets to an impressive log.
Had a fun session. The failed 140 was just because i wasnt focusing and missed my cues. The 2nd attempt went up easily and is the heaviest ive done in a few months.
The emom was a bit heavier than id usually go, but made an enjoyable change. I'll be focusing on log for a while now and may even try for a PB before the year ends.

I believe this is the first time ive come close to actually failing a rep since i coined this approaching last spring. I've had sessions where my lungs have failed, or my mind, but this is the first time ive got close to muscular failure (if my memory is correct).
2nd rep on the final 2 sets were grinders, and the 100th rep almost started coming back down which is very odd as the final set is usually one of the easiest. No doubt at all i didn't have an extra rep in me on the final set. Im not sure if this means it was perfectly planned, or if I've f**ked up and will struggle with the next couple of sessions.

Not a bad session, but id hoped for 340 on the single. Sadly it just wasnt there today and 330 was pretty much the limit.

Moving to a 5 day split next week so I'll be back to deadlifting every week rather than once a fortnight, hopefully that will bring the deadlift back up.

The original plan was 50 singles at 105 but back is sore and i couldn't face 50 cleans. Adding the extra 2kg gave me a way to get a volume PB without requiring extra cleans so i went for that option.
Very happy with where my pressing is right now.

Put the kit on for the final set on bench as i planned to rep out. Felt a tweak in my left pec as soon as i started driving off my chest though so racked it. No sense taking silly risks at this point in the year.
Fairly happy with the session as a whole, pressing feels good.

Todays session was a good one. Yoke moved well. Grip was solid on farmers, even did a nice hold at the end of the run with 155kg. 200kg pick up was rough, but considering these are among the hardest ive used i was pleased to be able to pick them up so easy.
First time on stones in a while. Struggled a bit to lap the 175, but the load was easy enough once i got set.

Cleans here were hard work due to some serious biceps soreness after events.
Had hoped for 5 on the final set but rep 4 was a bit of a grinder so rather than risk failing one i dropped the log, ditched the belt, got a few breaths then put up the 25th and final rep.
This is a big volume PB, 25 reps at just over 88% of my 1rm.

Had a little extra motivation tonight so figured id do something heavy rather than waste it in 50 reps with 180kg (I've done that before, PBs are better).
I decided to chase 15 reps at 220 (previous best is 12). It was all feeling very easy until i sat down after rep number 5 and got a sharp pain in my left knee. c**t.
Decided to call it there rather than risk it. Training is great at the moment, dont want to ruin the momentum by hurting myself.
Finished off with some stretching and mobility. Physio is booked for sunday so if there is an issue we'll have it sorted sooner rather than later.

A rushed session today as my son wouldn't chill. Reasonably happy with the volume considering I've not benched over 160 in years.
Transition to push press next week to start a littke peak and push for a PB before the end of the year.

No events this week as sunday is the only time i can see my physio. A couple of massive volume targets next week, so i need to be limber and fuelled up!
