EnterSandman | Best Powerlifting Federation | 08-11-2016 @ 16:27
'at the moment' Member 6138, 16 posts | I live in italy and the only federations we have are WPC, IPF and WDFPF. I plan to start competing in 2017 and id like to get some opinions on which one i should choose. As far as i know: WDFPF- organizes local meets and i can reach the location by car, but not many people compete there, i checked and last year in my weight class there was only one lifter. IPF- id need to fly to the location, has strict rules and i dont really like the image of drug free powerlifting they want to represent when most of their lifters are clearly enhanced but most of the italian lifters compete there. WPC - new in italy, id need also to fly there, seems more lifter friendly, judging is not so strict(bench pause and squat depth), doesnt pretend to be drug free. Makes only two meets one full one push pull at the moment. Id like to know your opinions. If i choose one federation id prefere to stay in that federation and train by their rules

Lovely ass Congrats. Member 5958, 2315 posts SQ 280, BP 170, DL 300750.0 kgs @ 138kgs UnEq | IPF and WPC are two very different feds. Tested or not would be the first question.

If i choose one federation id prefere to stay in that federation and train by their rules choose a fed on based on what you like.. not whether others are on drugs or not.. some people are weak as piss on grams per week others cock strong natty with the diet of a supermodel. so do you like stricter, quieter atmosphere of IPF or the more raucous atmosphere of WPC? wraps v sleeves? walking out v monolift? lots of competition v being the only lifter in your class? choose based on factors like that.

'at the moment' Member 6138, 16 posts | I have nothing against steroids users i just dont like when a federation pretends that its lifters are all natural. Wpc seems better for me

I said i like better the wpc, i dont see your point. I do not care if the lifter next to me is on drugs especially because i will probably use gear in the future, but the whole hypocrisy of "we'll ban every steroid user because we want a clean sport" is pathetic.

So what was the question if you dislike drug tested federations so much?

IPF and WDFPA can only endeavour to ban every PED user, it would be prohibitive cost-wise to OOC test every single athlete at a level needed to even get close. heavily funded sports can't do it with full a OOC program. but IPF are for 'drug free' in ethos. what is the IPF supposed to say? 'promoting powerlifting for those prefer to inject away, but come off 3 weeks out, because we'll only test the odd top lifter at high level comps'
