Who does this? I've been addicted to this activity for 20+ years. I've heard it causes arthritis later in life. I've also heard it doesn't cause arthritis later in life. What's the truth? Sugden docs? Would keeping one's hands dexterous prevent any problems developing? Thanks.

You must start slow. 1st brush your teeth with uncomfortable hand. Look through your peep hhoe with other eye. Listen through the wall with the other ear.

I have also heard both. I occasionally pull my fingers from the base which makes them click, but not always.

Worst for me is my neck, I can make it crack by turning it side to side in a certcen way. Fairly sure it's not good for me

There was some person who debunked this by clicking the fingers of one hand for decades.

I crack my fingers, knees, ankles and back very frequently, and have done so for about 15 years. Hearing other people doing this makes me want to do it - a bit like yawning.

My hands are one of the few body parts that aren't fked. I don't know if you read the study that a guy did, whereby he cracked the knuckles of one hand only. After 20 years, he discovered fk all difference.

Won an Igg Nobel prize for it if I recall.

However this only proves that it doesn't cause arthiritis; it may still increase the risk of it

It was announced by the medical profession this week that this activity is harmlessHappy

Slightly replayed but seperate in a sense- does anyone know if regular cracking, specifically of the lumbar region, can cause hyper mobility or weakness? Just curious as sometimes after a good pop I feel slightly 'less' strength in the area? Although I'm unsure if this is more to do with the area becoming relaxed.

Bonus question- does anyone else crack their joints prior to lifting I.e. Mobilising the spine through rolling, wrists etc?

Before deads I do the old lying on the floor leg over thingy not to produce a click deliberately but it always does.

I crack my knuckles a lot, I started because I discovered it annoyed my female work colleague so obviously it's her fault.

If I don't crack them for a while I can crack the second knuckle joints just by clenching my fingers which I like plus it helps my kung fu.

Way back before I became an adult orphan my Mother who was a senior lecturer in post basic nursing used to get on at me about cracking my knuckles get Arthritis etc, so one day I said to her have they ever proved a link between cracking knuckles and Arthritis as I have never heard of anyone with Arthritis saying I wish I didn't crack my knuckles when I was younger. She said actually they've never been able to prove any link.
