His inability to complete a competition after a deadlift max has to be concerning. I think unless squat is in the final Thor may win WSM this year, just a gut feeling. With Squat Z will be hard to beat.

Well, to be fair, that happened 2 times and after he lifted a deadlift WR That takes a lot out of a person, I imagine

Member 5141, 4206 posts SQ 300, BP 180, DL 350830.0 kgs @ 130kgs UnEq | ^^ im sure it does. But if his goal is to be number 1 in the world it is a problem Ed is going to have to fix. He should have been top 2 at Europes last year, and had a decent shot a podium spot at Arnolds and instead he has had to withdraw from both comps after only 1 event.

I agree But in the eyes of regular people, this gives him a bigger legacy I follow the sport as much as anyone, and I can't remember who won which year of either Esm or Arnolds But pretty much everyone knows who holds the deadlift record

The year he tied with Benni but dropped the bar. He wants to win WSM this year and to do that he may well need to win a deadlift max and be able to be competitive.

Member 5836, 366 posts SQ 220, BP 137.5, DL 235592.5 kgs @ 80kgs UnEq | isn't this just an injury and nothing to do with his deadlift. he just happens to be fortunate that the tricep injury still allows him to deadlift heavy. he injured his tricep a while ago and with a comp which has two heavy pressing events his going to end up pulling out

I'm not saying its definitely an issue. Just saying it's a concerning trend.

He'll place too far down and lose too many points on that event. Although I have a sneaky suspicion he may have pulled a shock result out on a truck pull once before?? Did he come 2nd one year overall?
