Thanks for the results. I can't believe there is next to nothing about this comp advertised anywhere. I used to go and watch this comp 10 years ago at Litchfield rugby club, got some great memories.

I've searched loads for this but can't find anything about the comp at all which is very strange. Does anyone have the results? Managed to find the placing of one of the athletes from his Facebook page book no mention of other placings.

Does anyone have a link to the strongman results from the Saturday comps?

I've never liked the double points on stones or this new format but this is just a joke now. They need to sort it out. It's like someone needs to start up a rival comp (Worlds most Powerful man?) I disagree with people saying Felix doesn't deserve to be in the final because he isn't in the top 10 in the world. How boring would it be if only the top 10 ranked athletes were allowed to make the top 10? You don't always see seeds 1-8 make the Wimbledon quarter finals do you. There is always a outsider getting through. Felix in this comp deserved to be in the top 10. He had enough points gap simple as that. He's been screwed over and no doubt lost a fair bit of money that he would have got from getting to the final. Rant over lol.

They need to scrap this stone rule. It's complete rubbish. All events should be equal.

Anyone know what's going on with Hollands?. I really had hoped he's be back to his best and qualify. I'd expect with his new phisique he'd be awesome at loading events but he came 2nd last on that to. Really hoping for a miracle in the last 3 events to see him qualify.

Mikeneto said: He does high reps in training...video on his Instagram doing around 320kg x1 with just wraps around a month before WSm and it was a grind. WSM is with a suit. As I said in WSM thread he seems like a guy who thrives on the crowd. Didn't he get about 13 reps with 320kg at WSM? Surely a suit can't mean you go from 1 rep to 13.

LaTuta said: I doubt that we get to see even a 465kg deadlift. If Eddie could pull 500 after all this he would be good for something like 520kg. Thats seems to be far out of reach. This. Lifts are always way down in the final compared to what they'd pull fresh. I wouldn't have thought anyone will have enough in the tank to pull much past 450kg.

Let's all get behind Terry and wish him well with whatever he decides to do. I still think he's got plenty to offer so hope he comes back next year. Should be a cracking final. Hoping the brits do well of course.

As others have said, I'll be gutted if Terry hasn't made the final. He looked in great shape coming in to this and I was hoping for a podium place. Hopefully the spreadsheet is wrong.

hixxy1985 said: I doubt he will ever be the same - nerve damage due to 750kg yoke crushing the nerve seems quite irreversible to me, lucky not to be paralysed. Lalas has the exact same injury. This is why I'm not a fan of the Arnold's. Yes push athletes to their limits but there is no reason to push them well past it to dangerous levels. A 750kg yoke has no place in strongman, it's just going to end careers. You don't need that much weight to see who the strongest is. Terry Todd doesn't seem to have the athletes well being on his radar and he need to. |
