Your comment about insulin delaying the onset of type 2 in athletes on high carb/sugar diets is bang on the money. Dwain Chambers' book is a great read, it goes into detail about insulin use if anyone is interested.

Events:
Deadlift for max with 2inch steel plates
(going for new WR!)
Log Press (The Austrian Oak) 205kg
Frame Carry (with straps) 500kg!
Dumbbell Overhead 124kg
Yoke (Bale Tote) 700kg!

A wr single on the log would make more sense with reps on the dumbbell. Otherwise its like the same event twice.

Same with yoke & frame carry if they are two events and not done in succession.

I wish they'd a few more visual events at the Arnold's. I found all the impossibly heavy stuff to be a snooze fest to watch last year. Especially the yoke that eliminated half the competitors!

How can it be Arnold's and not have a Conan's ffs. Its named after Arnolds best movie. Get a load of female body models for the weight. Cross promotion for the show. Do the same with the viking press instead of the db.

If it was me, I would have the events as they are but add in stones. Take out straps on the frame carry and obviously lighten it...have one log and make it 190kg.

Slight change to the dumbbell event. There will now be an option do a 300lbs/136kgs dumbbell as well. A rep with this heavier bell beats any number of reps with the "lighter" bell.

that's actually pretty cool. I think only Lalas has done a dumbbell this heavy?

I think Thor may lift both of the heavy overhead events. His weight is up loads and is focusing on his pressing. Just as long as he stays at his training facility and doesn't fly around.

It's going to take excellent technique to put that up. Big Z may actually struggle with that. He uses more strict pressing power than anyone else on the dumbbell and at some point that just becomes impossible.

Shaw and Thor will probably do it.

Why should he? He improves every year and is the strongest overhead.so it would be stupid to say he will struggle.

He doesn't win Dumbbell every year though.

What about lalas and Radz? Aren't they 2 of the best dumbell pressers?
