He never had a problem with lifting something off the floor.its more the lockout.but his 463kg was piss easy.
He should have opened heavier

444 and then say 475 probably would have won it..but I have yet to see the lifts

Not a very clean lift. Bar looks like a nightmare once it is off the floor.

Z's deadlift has stayed the same whilst overs have improved. He's no longer in the conversation for best dead lifter in the world.

it'll be easier to get off the floor but once you start having to hitch, or even just get the hips through, the whippiness makes it incredibly hard. you can see the shockwaves going through ed's body as he tries to finish the lift off.

Zs deadlift is way down.. probably 45 to 55 kilo down on his best.. old age taking its toll

Notice this is already being heralded the new "world record".
Think Ed made a mistake in his weight selections... Shouldn't have opened so heavy. If he'd opened with 430-440, I think he'd have much more left in the tank for that 465.

Shaw's lifts were ridiculously smooth.
What was the weight of Thor's 2nd lift? that was ridiculously easy.. It did look like he f**ked up his 442kg lift but recovered.
Thor with a suit at the deadlift world champs will pull something huge.

The organisers dropped a bollock yesterday and run out of time to do the Oak. So they have to do it today...plus 3 other events??..WTF

congrats Eddie!
congrats Eddie!
Big Eddie fan but...
1) He got lucky that Shaw underestimated his own strength... Shaw could have pulled 465+ as his third for sure going by his 463... (Shaw took much more conservative opener/second lift)
2) Some people are saying it wasn't locked out... it would be nice to have a non-controversial win/record.
Winning doesn't mean he did everything perfectly.

Congrats to Eddie on the win.
I think Shaw could of comfortably pulled 470 instead of 463.
Ed appeared to struggle in comparison to the Melbourne WR, perhaps just the horrible bar.

Yeah mate, but Eddie won, so it wasn't a mistake. Shaw made the mistake going too light

Seems to be a very British thing finding fault in our own success.
Any other nation would be full of praise, we always seem to prefer the underdog

It looked like some lifters struggled a lot more than others with the whip that bar was creating... Eddies lift was phenomenal and it was only the lock out he had trouble with mainly due to the whip.
