On the NHS? Quite probably, and quite rightly, so.

You can pay to get them done privately.

Other options may now be available.

AMH_Power said:Ok, just been to docs about a lump in my tit (turns out its a swollen lymph node and of no worry).
However, as part of the testing I had bloods done and my testosterone came back abnormal. Waiting for a referral date, the specifics are..

T:985ng/dl (34.1nmol/l)

there were some other stuff on there like LH/FSH and estriadol, and these were all elevated but still in normal range. It was only the testosterone which I wrote down as this was the one that was 'abnormal range'.
Is there any bad side effects to high test (I know there's positives). I worry as my dad was only 32 when he died of heart failure, despite being pretty healthy. Could this be cause of concern? Or could it be the daily squats f**king about with hormones?

Also, has anyone here had there levels done and come back high too? (do strength athletes have higher test from training, or do they take up strength sports because of high test in the first place).

Out of interest, did you not ask your Doctor there and then? Did you think 'f**k that, I will ask the Brain Trust on Sugden' instead?

I'm healthy, not done any gear, can still bone the missus etc. But i'm just curious to see my levels.

Will the GP tell me to f**k off and stop wasting his time?!

Ask your GP or go Private. the UK seems to be behind in this area. In the US its more common as they do HRT (hormone replacement therapy) for men as it is now well documented that some males can have a male menopause when test lvls drop. Aslo the US has seen that a whole load of issues like depression, and weight gain, are part of having low test. I personally know of an ex solider who has PTSD, suffers from depression anxity etc and he has been taking the herbal test boosters, zma, etc, (no other drugs due to the side effects they have), his moods have stabilised and he is far more active than he was.

Unfortuatly the scale used to depict normal abnormal etc has been deveopled from testing males between 18-80 so most Gp's see the result and if its in range it's ok. of course if your 20 and your test levls are in the lower end of the range then your lvls are really that of a much older group.
IMO most Gp's will fob you off or not even beaware of it so might be best to go private but it could be costly. I know the HRT is discussed a lot over at
"T nation".

Wasnt a doctor who gave the results, it was a nurse, hence the referal

EDIT:
Do you actually feel like you have high test levels when you are training so hard everyday? I don't even train half of what you do, but during periods of heavy training (not often), i feel like my test is zero! Meaning no morning wood, no drive to train etc.

My libido is always turbo high (even from early high school), spontaneous ragers plenty of times throughout the day. I knew it wasnt low, thats for sure

AMH,

I'm quite sure you know your own body and can tell if the slighest thing is not quite right. your clearly fit and must have a good feel for how your feeling from day to day from how you train. on its own I would think its not much to worry about your just a lucky guy with higher test lvls. Hopefully the doc would say the same.

You possibly do some the things that are claimed to improve/produce test anyway:
lift with big compound movements.
Train with voulme.
Train with high intensity
Eat enougth cholesterol (meat, eggs, cheese,) along with minimal starchy carbs, lots veg.

If you get spots on your back, does that mean you are a Test-o-saurus man monster?

I had mine done last Christmas and it was 960ng/dl (33.3nmol/l). As far as I know I don't have any side effects from being in the upper end of the 'normal' range.

That's interesting and made me curious to what mine would be.but I wouldn't mind betting that anyone who trains seriously eats accordingly and such would probably be between normal and high.I'm not sure how high would be to high though. I'm sure I've heard there is a link between high t-lvls and. Boldness that could be a potential side effect?

there is a sense of pride with having naturally high test levels , I had mine tested and they were normal , but the doctor said I was muscular , so I went away happy.

Does the body respond via the receptors in different ways to hormones, e.g. one guy has a level of 1000, is bald, pudgy and cries at sad movies - Another guy has 500 and is a top class athlete with 15 girlfriends?
