whoah, mad volume!

How do you find your stamina when repping the stone? Do you put it on a platform on each rep or just pull it high?

WELL IT GETTS THE LUNG PUFFING THAT I CAM TELL YOU, I PUT THE STONE TO A 52" PLATFORM ON REACH REP THEN DROP IT TO THE FLOOR AND REPEAT, WOULD LIKE TO GET THE 100 FOR 3 SETS OF 10 BY THE END OF THE YEAR. THE VOLUME IS CONSISTANT THROUGH MOST OF MY ROUTINE. BUT A LITTLE OF POINT, I REMEBER READING ABOUT A POWER LIFTER FROM YEARS AGO WHO USE TO WALK TO THE GYM( WARM UP) THEN DEADLIFT 4 SETS THEN GO HOME! HE WOULD DO THE SAME FOR BENCH AND SQUATS AND ALWAYS HEAVY I CAN'T REMEBER HIS NAME BUT HE WAS A STRONG MOFO THE VOULME DEPENDS ON THE INDIVIUALS ABILITY TO RECOVER I JUST FEEL THAT IF I ONLY DID DEADLIFT AND 1 OTHER MOVEMENT THEN I HAVEN'T DONE ENOUGH OR MOVE ENOUGH KG'S

Solid training dude!
How do you perform those quater squats you're talking about?
I've been tempted to try bulgarian excentrics, those for which you use a weight you cant do like 120% and only make the descent part with two spotters.

Hey bud, what i did was to set the safety pins so that when you stand normally they should just touch slightly above your elbow (i know power rack vary) then load the bar on the safety pins and start from the bottom position every rep but hold at the top for 2 to 4 seconds then desend back to the pins pause and repeat for 4 to 5 reps. and volla quater squat or it is for me i suppose you could do the same for front squats too Grin . hope this helps

thought of this routine for squats looking for pointers. but i also like the 5 reps 5 rest 4 reps 4 rest 3 reps 3 rest 2 reps 2 rest 1 rep routine that was mentioned earlier in the thread

week 1 to 3 75% to 80% 4 to 6 reps
week 4 to 6 80% to 85% 2's or 3's reps
week 7 and 8 90% singles
week 9 max attempt

i want to get the voulm in on squats as so i can attempt a 280 squat some time this year or by the start of next year my current is 240, so if i wollow this plan i would be doing 250 260 270 280

Cheers for the info mate.
Your squat routine looks pretty much like what i do during the season yet we add some excentrics and stato dynamics in there for cycles of three. These last two i dont like, they're hard on your joints/muscles and the breathing gets awkward, but hell it does pay off.
I try to take it easy on the times sheets though, if i say one week where i come to realize two would be better i dont hesitate to adapt/tune my training. I also find singles arent needed unless you want to sort one out. % are a good indicator of what you can expect, doubles are the highest i get intensity wise, but thats just me.

cheers bud will give it a try for the first 9 week cycle and see how it comes along and how i cope, but on the dynamic stuff and excentrics what sort of exercises do you do, i'm a reall bread and butter guy when it comes to the science termanology Confused
