Nice push presses and incline!

I think your problem with power cleans comes from the fact that you try to catch the bar in your hands as opposed to catching in on your clavicles on your fingertips.

exellent work with the log mate!

You can see when you go for the 140 that the leg drive stalls just a touch before your triceps kick in. From that lift already i think you can tell that maybe the 150 wont fall if you cant dig more out of the leg drive.

The way you press back rather than front is a great one, thats what i am trying to learn at the moment as well.

Just my fairly uneducated opinion of course Grin

over 300lbs log still!

i see what you mean joni i think next week its log for reps so will try and get the timing right then the following week i'm hoping to try a 150.
if you watch Big Z, svend karlson, plekitus, i think murimuts then they all have a similar log technique.

i have change mine since i started training with the log.
put i will keep you posted on the 150 if i can get that then i will need to get the 160 which is edging on world class log pressing i think

Mate, you have to get someone to teach you how to power clean. The bar is too far from your body, there's no hip drive at all and you're all arms. With your raw strength you could be power cleaning 160 in no time with a bit of technique.

tell you one thing i wish i could get a coach to teach me, have had paul switon on the riot triaining forum meet me i aberdeen for some coaching but thats it, going to practice hang cleans and the first pahse of the lift after the next 2 comps have got a couple of vids and youtube clips that i'm going to use to teach meyself i recon it will take a year or so but my deadlfits should benifit greatly from this aswell as my stone lifting and log. but thatnks for the comments, you must of got a laugh thought on how bad the cleans are lol

Thats some terrific strenght you have here.

Tokar pretty much nailed it on the head.

I'll try to give pointers like we said, although i believe this kind of lift must be taught/shown in the flesh.

A clean is about legs and back's strenght in synergy, arms should be relaxed, they are of little use here imo. You should sit down a bit more, like when you hit depth in the squat. Keep the bar the closest you can to your shins and your shoulders right above it, your back must be straight.
First pull (below the knees) is slow, like a deadlift. The bar takes off slowly then it accelerates once you're passing the knees, a noticeable difference must be made between the first two pulls but dont mark any pause. It should be scrapping your quads, there actually is a contact. Most lifters will have holes in their pants or no hair left if in shorts.Grin
Speed is getting more and more important at that point. Hips will play an important part too as they will literaly drive the bar. Then there is a third pull which is basically a shrug. At this point you should be on your tip toes then jump to drive the bar even higher. The barbell should be slightly under your pectorals when it is at its fastest yet this might be different from one lifter to another. Elbows will be high. Stay perpendicular to the floor all the time, dont lean backwards you wouldnt be able to shrug and might fall. The bar being at its highest, you should 'drop under' as fast as you can. Obviously you dont need to hit much depth but still. It should look like a 1/4th squat or higher. Anywhere above parallel is a pwclean in my book. The catching phase is about locking. The bar should rest on your clavicles/front delts, elbows high so as not to loose the bar. Finally, you just front squat the bar.

I hope this will help. Description may differ from one lifter to another. I have little experience and hope i didnt make it look anymore complex than it is.
Excellent exercice.

Cheers.
