When he unracked the 350 at the worlds and his belt was open and didn't even notice now that's Core strength

He makes that eleiko bar and plates look like a wl-bar with bumpers. Man handles 370.

355 and 370 looked awesome, and his bench too, how come his deadlift is so low?

Awesome lifting! I reckon with a fix in his technique for his sumo he'll be able to pull way more (ie. pull slack out the bar, knees out and sit back as opposed to a sumo SLD).

Polynesians (Naurans, Maoris, Samoans etc) are beastly and have amazing genetics for being big and strong. Hence they are disproportionately represented in top tier rugby

Coming from my side of the world I've known a few of them and its incredible to see kids lean at 100kg UNTRAINED, or benching near 140kg 1st time in the gym.

Some more polynesians in strenght sports and sorry for hijacking this thread!

Off topic but here is what happens if you try and tackle a 150kg Tongan too high, even if you're jonny Wilkinson

Why aren't Tongans disproportionately represented in oly lifting? Or power lifting? Or strongman? Or shot put/hammer/discuss? Or American football? With their genetics I'm just surprised they don't dominate all strength sports?

Coming from their *relatively* impoverished background they may want to pursue sports that pay well? There are only about 1.5 mil polynesians in the world, which makes it a smaller talent pool than a mid-sized city in the UK.

Actually polynesians are disproportionately represented in the NFL too. American Samoan boys are 56 times likelier to go to the NFL than American boys

Here's a documentary on that
