Serratus Push Ups --GTG Style

Glute Bridges --GTG Style

x 10 reps

Kneeling Rollouts
x 10 reps
x 10 reps
x 10 reps --Still taking it easy. No shoulder niggle at all, this is a good sign.

Sandbag Clean and Press
130kg x 0 reps -- Got it to my shoulders easy but failed the (push) press, had 3 goes at it. I found it quite amusing how I seem much more comfortable with a monstrous bag of sand compared to calibrated barbell. I can see my sandbag lifting exceeding my barbell lifts before much longer. That just seems all kinds of weird.

Bloody hell that's a hell of a session! Pretty epic squatting too, really impressive. I still can't believe how awkward and painful that sandbag looks but you handle it with ease, that 130 is going soon! I think your ability to man handle an awkward bit of kit better than a bar is a testament to how good a complete strongman you are, its mightly impressive Cool

Lol thanks mate. Much as I hate to admit it the high rep squats are doing me a world of good. The shoulder niggle I had is all but gone so I can start bumping up the weight again but I think that would be a mistake. Aiming to get my 10rm as high as I can before year end, 170 might be on the cards. Also 200 for 5.

Nice of you to say mate. The reason I added the sandbag was because it's big awkward and just horrible. The builders I know all have this brute strength with odd objects and while I was stronger in the gym I couldn't match them on that stuff. The sandbag has bridged that gap and then some.

I think with the amount of time you spend standing on your hands you would get a job in a circus no sweat Grin

Cheers mate, they're getting better and better. Lowering the weight and changing my form is the best thing I've done for my squatting. Oh and going beltless as often as I can. That makes the belted version laughable.

Sounds good, I'm hoping to do more beltless stuff after the comp end of Nov, don't think I'll be doing handstand work though!

Well I need to ditch the wall first. Freestanding reps would be awesome, I just don't have the balance for that yet. Actually I got a bollocking from the Mrs yesterday for leaving footprints on the wall and ceiling. Much as I tried to look sincere I couldn't help but wonder if that has ever happened to anyone else.

You should give beltless a good shot. The weight you use will have to come down but breathing on reps is easier and you really learn how tension works. Nothing can teach you that like a 1rm beltless squat.

Seems I can't make a sale with handstands. They're even more old school than squats and milk and everyone seems to love that.

Ha cheers mate. I read somewhere that Arthur Saxon considered a 300lb sandbag press and a 350lb sandbag shoulder to be good/impressive lifts. So those are my targets, they are both getting there but not quite reachable yet.

Me too I found out that leaving out the belt on squats as often as possible helps a lot with form/balance/coordination.

Oh, and awesome session, mate. Happy
