Feel a little too worked today so laying off the strength work today.

So...

Run 2KM
8:34 --So far I'm the fastest in the office but this nearly killed me. Speed is fine, if anything it's actually too fast, I tend to go off like train. Sprint or walk, that's how I like it. You don't see lions jogging. Need to work on the distance.

Well I could use a bit more aerobic fitness, need better recover between events. But the main reason is this...

http://www.stubbers.co.uk/index.php/adventure-race-2013-stubbe...

Challenge 1 – Heartbreak Hill

1500 metres of army style challenges up and down Heartbreak Hill!

Challenge 2 – Take to the Water

800m in a vessel of your choice – what will you chose?

Challenge 3 – Trail Run

Time for an easy jog – chance would be a fine thing! 1400 metres to contemplate how to take on the next challenge…

Challenge 4 – River Crossing

Sounds easy… careful you don’t end up in the wet stuff! Focus your mind!

Challenge 5 – Assault Course

As you reach challenge 5 you will be met by a purpose built assault course, you just have to get from one end to the other!
Challenge 6 - Archery

Time to remain calm – you’re stuck here until you hit the target!
Challenge 7 – 4×4 Mud Alley

2,400 metres of Mud (n Madness!) easy in a 4×4 – not so easy when you are running the purpose built track! Good Luck with this task!

Challenge 8 – River Dips

Time to clean up after the muddy track, and enjoy a couple of cooling dips in the River… in February!

Challenge 9 – Beasting Session

They thought it was all over, well think again the good folks at SpartanFam will be in place to make sure you don’t take it too easy!

Challenge 10 – Make it to the Finish

I've got no joint problems at all, feels fine. Breathing on the other hand is a big problem, cold weather asthma.

Might help me shake off some body fat so it's all good.

I like the hero's welcome the guys receive at the end of the video. There's no-one there.

Nice squatting mate, good weights and plenty of reps, nice........well prob not for you Tongue
Unlucky on the 130 sandbag press, but that will be done in a couple of weeks max I reckon, no pressure Happy
To cap it all off running as well, becoming an all rounder fella

Ha ha I'm happy with that mate. The 10rm stuff is building nicely and adding another rep to 200 seems very likely. My whole thigh area has just exploded recently, I must have about an extra inch around there now. My scales died so I can't tell if I've actually gained weight.

Meh the sandbag will go it's just a matter of time. Getting it to my shoulders is just getting easier so that's a progression all by itself. In short I'm happy with how things are going.

As I've mentioned I hate running with a passion but with this assault course looming I don't want to get caught out. The good thing is I'm by far the fastest over he 2km run (out of the people at work who have run it). Planning on bringing my 40kg kb into the house and sneaking in some evening fitness when I can.

Thanks you and yes it does. My 3-5rm is priority as it seems to have the biggest carryover to my push press (although 10rm looks more along those lines now). Basically I use bench as assistance rather than a lift unto itself. My thoughts are 160 by year end.

Makes sense for the strongman stuff, I think 160 this year is looking very doable, possibly there now!

HSPU
+20kg x 3 reps --4 is nearly there.
+20kg x 3 reps
+20kg x 3 reps --Last one was one hell of a grinder

1xDB Rows
45kg x 8 reps (Each Side)
45kg x 8 reps (Each Side)
45kg x 8 reps (Each Side)

I did these as super sets with as little rest as possible.

Cheers mate, all the pressing is certainly doing something, my tri's are much thick down by the elbow now. If that translates to a stronger lockout then I'll be a happy bunny. Had a full house this morning as well, 4 of us benching. They all went for 1rm's but I wasn't playing that game.

Both of those session were today mate, it's just a little disjointed. Yesterday was the god awful run. No-one has beaten me yet though, not even the seasoned runners. That's a testament to my shear bloody mindedness rather than running ability.
