The whole point is about improving your own total right? so why do we care if some of the lifts are equipped? it doesnt effect your total. It's a powerlifting table, and like it or not, equipment is a part of powerlifting.

What do other people think about maybe renaming the 'league' as the 'PB Chart' and simply removing the 'League #x' on forum poster info - this is somewhat pointless comparing equipped versus unequipped. It's really not a big deal anyway, it's just a bunch of numbers. It's meaningless. Until I am number one.

![]() Has turned into a fucking nobhead - any guesses as to what caused it ?? Member 30, 520 posts SQ 185, BP 160, DL 200545.0 kgs @ 91kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 27.01.2007 @ 13:02 PM I dont mind either way, I always put my raw numbers up.With my lifts there wouldnt be a masive diffrence anyway, maby 10-20 kg on the squat, 10kg on the deadlift at most. bench i dont have a bench s**t but i would imagine about 10kg at the moment. I always saw it as a bit of fun it saves having to calculate your total and the wilks ect yourself. Also people are all at diffrent stages so its never been ultra competitive (in my view). P.S - the Your Journal link is bloody brillant idea, used that a few times and has saved some time i could be looking at porn!

![]() Невыносимо Высокомерный (RIP) Member 11, 965 posts SQ 190, BP 140, DL 255585.0 kgs @ 95kgs UnEq | Originally posted by Joni... i dont think it is about being serious at all - otherwise why not have quarter squats there as well and do a board press and count that as bench press? Equipped lifting is from another planet altogether. Its not a competition - anyone knows i am not a very competetive guy (a disadvantage in this game i guess), but rather justa friendly edging of lifts and pbs. I agree with Joni. If it's a competition, you have to have at least some semblance of consistency. It's fair enough to trust people to vouch for the validity of their own lifts, but you can't compare equipped lifts to raw lifts. I think the analogy with bench press / board press is a good one too. If it isn't a competition, then sure, who cares? But at the same time, if it isn't a competition, why are there numbers? Personally I think this kind of exercise always becomes utterly meaningless and futile which I why I never posted any numbers on the MT board. Although what I found most objectionable about that one was people like Andy Bolton coming along, posting their numbers and lapping up the applause.

![]() Eat.Cycle.Sleep.Win Member 2, 12511 posts SQ 190, BP 150, DL 280620.0 kgs @ 99kgs UnEq Administrator | Why? becuase they lift more than the rest of us? Sure, they are strong but lots of boards have serious strength athletes posting. SDF has had Geoff Dolan, Travis Ortmayer, Terry Hollands, Stefan Solvi, Karl and Brad Gillingham etc etc. Are we to ban those guys from the tables because they are stronger than us? Do you get annoyed when stronger people turn up at meets?

![]() left the country satisfied Member 10, 19241 posts SQ 240, BP 150, DL 270660.0 kgs @ 107kgs UnEq | i'd be very glad if andy bolton would come and post his raw total ![]() I'd be even more happy if riku kiri would come and... but thats another story. The meet analogy would work if there was only an equipped comp - raw lifters would just lift in that. It makes no sense to have the order numbers on the league - we even have numbers under our avatars - if the totals are totally arbitrary (as in raw/equipped/forklift). Everyone knows i am not a very competetive person against anyone else than myself, so it is not about that. but then again, i posted my touch and go bench PB on it ![]()

![]() left the country satisfied Member 10, 19241 posts SQ 240, BP 150, DL 270660.0 kgs @ 107kgs UnEq | one improvement suggestion: some kind of latest posts feed to the home page, would attract visitors to the forum (articles get updated too infrequently at the mo to create the feeling of active site) regarding the number of pages in the list of topics, i guess i use small laptop screens quite often as well as small size browser at work to keep my surfing hidden, so thats why i get the problem earlier than others. But give it couple more months and it will become quite messy on the busy training logs for everyone.
