Lost his pen, then found his pen. #phew Member 4899, 2956 posts | This has very tangential links to another thread on here recently...former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) recently competed in a WL meet in his home town - don't know what he hit (it wasn't a great deal) but considering his apparently legit career-ending neck injury I thought this was a nice story. And if anyone wants to post a pic of his better half, please do... | ||

Lost his pen, then found his pen. #phew Member 4899, 2956 posts | I put some of the highlights of the Kazakh Nationals in the "It's a Shame" thread but Abubakarov (close enough) went 205 / 238 at SHW - 4 attempts were taken at each lift. He's hit similar numbers at home before (200 / 245) and then failed to sparkle in overseas competition but, as I said above, a mid 440 total might be in contention for a Bronze - assuming any Weightlifting actually takes place.... | ||

I did see some statistics the other day that suggested that globally Weightlifting was the 2nd most viewed sport during the Olympic Games...if true that may give it some stability. Having said that, with the spectre of corruption over it all, I don't think inclusion in the Olympics is the Carrot it used to be. | ||
