Did some axle after a max floor press yesterday. Wanted to hit 140k for 3 in 30s as I need to get into the way of just going straight in after each rep as the time limit at the Arnold is only 60s and I'm aiming for close to 5reps with the 147kg axle.

If I was you I'd be disappointed if I didn't crack 4-5 with the 147.
You'll get 3 with 147 in 30s in the next couple weeks, then work the whole minute, and you should be good mate! Just make sure you aren't gassed out after that first 30s. Looks good!

Although there will probably be some dude cracking 8 reps in that time Roll-Eyes

Go on then give us a 6-week-out preview/thoughts on the events Grin
Must be cool to compete in that one on such a big stage.

I've only had two events sessions, but overall I feel good. I don't want to make predictions at all.

Events:

147k axle for reps from floor
431k yoke 80ft (~25m)
363k frame into 363k sled for 60ft (~18m) each
side handles car dead for reps

Looking at them,

-> axle should be grand as long as I keep my conditioning stuff going nice
-> yoke should be good too, just need to get used to it again and up foot speed
-> frmae will be grand, and sled should be ok on that surface
-> car dead will be suit on, straps on and all out till I die haha!!

IMO being able to quickly switch the grip (on the fly as I do it) is the key to being successful for reps. You want to minimise the time on the stomach as much as possible as keeping it there drains the air out of you and you struggle to get it back in at the shoulders.

Totally agree mate.

With me the more time its on the stomach the more it slips down due to me being a girly man with out a powerbelly.

It's seriously impressive how quick your turnover is from belly to shoulders compared to the majority of lifters - it's a fraction of a pause and then, boom, straight up. Looks like you're on fire for the Arnolds!
