It does give that extra pop off the chest. You can restitch the seam to make the sleeve a bit tighter too this helps to maintain the twist on the sleeve without it returning to the normal position. This could save you buying a tighter shirt?

Cheers Bryn. Will try that, but will get Icepick's 46 as well once he's done with it.

A 44 would be like a virgin. I doubt if I could get into it, and if I could I'd probably tear it. But I'm up for trying one if you've got one!

No, but one of the lads I train with has. He does 125ish raw and managed 170 in it, but couldn't get a touch. Far too small for even my sculpted figure. Send a 44 F6 and a virgin - I'll try both - but not at the same time.

Last bench session before Italy tonight. Feeling a bit weary beforehand and not on top form, but did most of what I wanted to do

Bar for 10
40 for 10
60 for 8
80 for 5
100 for 3
120 for 2
140 for 1

48 F6 on and

160 for 3 off 4 inch board
170 for 2 off 2.5 inch board
180 for 1 (real horrible, hamstring-cramping grind. Shirt wasn't on right to start off with and rode up after the 170s)

46 F6 (borrowed from Moz) on and

180 for 1 off 4 inch board
180 for 1 off 2.5 inch board.

Left the shirt work there, as feeling really tired and wouldn't have benefitted from any more.

Bands out. Firstly, 2 purples + 20 a side for 2 sets of 10.

Then added a black mini each side -1 set of 4, each one hard, hard, hard.

Took off 20s and replaced them with 10s and did sets of 8, 10 and 8. Very hard, totally brilliant lock out work, got to give me a few kilos in the heat of battle.

Assistance and cardio tomorrow, Cardio Wednesday, and that's it. Fly out Thursday, lift on Saturday. That should be fun - 2 comps in one day. Raw in the morning, equipped in the afternoon.

Ready for equipped. Totally unprepared for raw, should be fun!

You're going to get a surprise on Thursday, marcg! Today was the last resistance session before Italy. Assistance, show off and cardio!

5 sets of 10 seated rows
5 sets of 10 facepulls
5 sets of 10 triceps pressdowns

35 minutes cardio - best ever cardio result on cross trainer - 525 calories in 35 minutes. Cardio was helped by watching "Murder She Wrote" as I ground out the strides.

Oh, the show off?

Well John WWW was having his first session back after a fortnight's holiday. He did well - singles with 130, 140 and 150. Then he tried some bands. We played about with different settings, eventually getting the max setting of 2 purples, 2 blacks and 10 kilos a side. These two big guys, and one of them was BIG, asked if they could have a go and couldn't move it. So smart ass me jumps on and does a set of 10 (easy) and they kinda scratch their heads and look at each other and look at me and say they'll have another go. So they do and neither can even get a single. And I say, "I'm glad I stopped at 10 lads."

Little cameos like that make you realise how much you've progressed over the years, because if, when I started, you have told me I'd be even close to benching what guys that size bench I'd have said you were mad.

And if you can't show off once in a blue moon, what's the point of doing it in the first place?

Thanks Ed. Last session today. 35 minutes cardio. Beat my record (of yesterday) by doing 567 calories in the allotted time.
