crushed the generals chance of 6th place Member 588, 5477 posts SQ 200, BP 100, DL 200500.0 kgs @ 84kgs UnEq | Just wondering who is all at uni? Which one and what course are you doing? Or have you graduated? I was doing Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow Uni but its boring as f**k so I'm ditching it and starting Sport and Physical Activity at Strathclyde in september.

Hmmm. Seems to me 10 billion other people are doing Sport degrees at the moment. I am a sixth form tutor - three of my tutees are applying for sports degrees this year alone, whereas I've never had one student apply for a mechanical engineering degree. There are probably several sports/exercise graduates on here that can comment authoritatively, but it does seem to me to be an increasingly competitive subject/career area. My impression is that by contrast, graduate engineers are in somewhat shorter supply. My degree is Biology and Psychology (Subsidiaries: Astronomy and Philosophy of Science). Masters: Behavioural Endocrinology

I know what your saying about jobs and stuff but theres no way I'm going to sit through 5 years of boring s**te that does not interest me at all only to end up in a job I dont enjoy. What a f**king waste of my life that would be. So maybe with this I can follow something I am passionate about and maybe make a difference in that field?

Are you going to Uni there or do you just train with Ken? The campus I'll be in is up in jordanhill so its not with the rest of it in the city centre. The gym there has some good equipment but is literally squashed into an old squash court and theres 12 people allowed in at a time. Dont think I'll train there often. The previous building burnt to the ground a couple of years ago. It would be easy enough to get to the city centre though and train there as its on my way home. I have to get train back to central then train out from central. How close is the strathy gym to central?

Maybe it's because I'm in awe of engineers and think they are as cool as f**k. Best of luck with the change.
