Training 30/3/09

Squat:
70x5 - loose suit bottoms on straight away;
70x3;
120x2;
150x5 - added belt;
175x5 - added very loose wrap
202.5x5;
215x5 - straps up;
215x5;
215x5;

A lot of work tonight. It wasn't particularly heavy, but it was quite tough! Then I remembered I'm doing the BDFPA Bench on Sunday, so I did this:

Bench:
70x5;
100x3;
120x1;
160x1 - shirt on for this;
180x1 - belt on;
200x1 - straightened shirt. Paused for about five seconds cos I was waiting for the press command, let out a fart and then pressed it back up - lol!

EDIT: Forgot I then took me shirt off and did 100x19;

Training 2/4/09

"Light" Squat:
70x5 - loose suit bottoms on straight away;
70x5;
120x8;
150x6 - added belt;
175x6 - added very loose wrap
202.5x5 - wraps a bit tighter;
202.5x5;
202.5x5 - blimey. This is like cardio;

This was quite heavy for a light squat session. I am now getting used to squatting on Mondays and Thursdays. Let's hope it produces results.

Sumo Deadlift:
70x5 - kept suit bottoms on;
120x3;
160x3 - added belt;
190x3 - this was really tough. Felt like my head was going to explode, so I have decided (yet again) to ditch sumo for the time being, so...

Conventional Deadlift:
190x3;
190x3;
150x1x10 - ten fast singles ~ 20secs rest after each one.

Tell me about it! And it was three sets of five on Monday too, but with a heavier weight! And next Monday (day after BDFPA British Bench) I've got something like three fours which is still nearly cardio... Unhappy

Not the attitude for marathon running. s**t yourself at 16 mile then bask in the ambiance for the last 10.

Don't worry Mr Fury, I am not stupid enough to try running a marathon, although I have eaten a few.

BDFPA British Bench Press

Good comp yesterday. I messed up a bit by tightening my shirt in the tumble drier and then having to not eat or drink breakfast to weigh in at 124.8; so my shirt was too tight. Or at least tighter than I am used to.

Opened on 200 which was very easy indeed. Then I f**ked up 210 by wobbling all over the place on the way down and not having any kind of line. Then I f**ked up 220 but the initial drive was strong, but not in the right direction! And I was wearing my "loose" shirt.

I won though. I'll do more at the next comp I hope!

well done, and even more impressive was you did it in a shirt that was tighter than normal and threw your line.
