Avatar Member 5517, 1538 posts SQ 160, BP 165, DL 201526.0 kgs @ 110kgs UnEq | Andy Boltons "Big 3" book 10euro, €5 chalk ball, wood and concrete to make a husafel shone or a fractional set from strengthshop £26. I asked a physio I go to for tendonitis in my thumb about knee wraps vs sleeves. He said avoid them both. With regards to wraps compressing the knee cap will lead to problems if you have any sort of issues. Also the wrap pressure traps tendons and can cause swelling in the tunnel the tendon travels thought. This could lead to tendonitis in a healthy tendon. He said sleeves for heat if working outdoors in the cold weather, say on farmers, are good for warm ups to prevent injury. However once you start to sweat take them off. Again if the sleeve is tight and it causes compression of a healthy joint this is bad. He is chartered, was recommended by the local powerlifting club and worked in the big hospital in my area until setting up on his own. I know a lot of lads will still wear wraps and sleeves for competition day, but might be worth training without if he is correct.

Looks like I'll make sure I have some decent sleeves. Elbows are healthy, might just get some single/double ply ones to keep the joints warm in the winter months (strongman gym is just a warehouse.)
