I've heard and understood the concept of deadlifting every 2/3 weeks but 5-6 seems to much for me personally ! Good luck though

Indeed,but i havn't had a proper deadlift p.b in over a year,so maybe six weeks isn't too long to wait Wink

Not an unknown approach to deadlift to be fair. I don't think it is necessarily optimal long-term. However, it could work for a while.

My last genuine 1rm lift was made after maybe 6 weeks not going beyond 70% for 2 with the deadlift. That, and doing high bar squats, front squats and power cleans, worked pretty well at the time. The final session a week out from maxing was front squats followed by 15 inch pulls to a reasonable weight (to get used to weight in the hands).

So it will be interesting to see.

That seems like a good approach. I may try that if what i'm doing turns out to be crap.

i'm going to pop in to this thread regularly now as i need to get my back sorted and looking for ideas on how to improve deadlift this could be a good method.

Well i'm still not sure what i'm doing will pay off,but at the mo i'm concentrating on getting my abs,traps,hamstrings,legs and lower back as strong as possible without deadlifting.

Cheers Paul. I've been using high volume for everything the past few weeks and I really like it! I'm hoping for some pb's next week.
