You thought about using light 41" bands on your GM's

Everything seems to be going well

I havn't actually got a pair of matching bands so I don't think I could do them. Also want to keep things as simple as possible for now. When I stall on the suspended good mornings,i'll switch to regular ones.

Put the bands round your neck/trap and either side of your feet! That's what I use.

Still not sure beefy. Really enjoying the training i'm doing at the mo and am really concentrating on getting my journal goals, which I defo won't get if I have to start training for another comp. I'll see how things go but I would like to do another comp at some point this year.

Some solid graft going on in here Martin!

All the core work is going to pay off big time with a huge squat and deadlift PB Happy

It's been a while since i've posted anything in my old log,so i thought i'd start a new one, with a new way of training.
After a failed attempt of a 250kg deadlift yesterday, followed by 10 sets of 4 with 192.5kg, (which has left me with shredded hands and a broken back) i have come to the conclusion that deadlifting often is not making my deadlift stronger.
From now on,i'll be deadlifting only once every 5 to 6 weeks, just to test if i'm getting stronger. The focus will mainly be on paused squats, front squats, good mornings, power cleans, high pulls and shrugs.
I'm not totaly sure this is a good idea, and i may actually get a lot weaker, but something about it just seems to make sense with me,and whenever i do any deadlifting now,i feel like it's taking more out of me than it's giving back. If anything, it should be interesting....

You're not alone!

I've always found dead lift training to be counter-productive, because it f**ks me up and affects everything else. I'm better off not doing it!

You do have a very decent dead lift number for a guy your size though.

Thanks Paul :-) I'm confident i'll have a squat P.B in a couple of months but the deadlifts we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks Wayne. The deadlift is bar far my best lift and I really enjoyed training it which has made it harder to take out of my routine. I have to admit though, since not training them i've felt a fair bit stronger and much less tired.
