I started CBL but the idea of no carbs or very minimal on non training and also before you train then eating alot of carbs after (shortened version LOL)

i suck on no carbs and the idea is that you eat enough carbs on a night to fully replenish glycogen stores etc so you can train the next day with no AM carbs.

I always had the same light headed feeling when i don't get some carbs in so i ain't going to be able to train properly on this....

Think it would still work if i had 150g of carbs (brown rice) between 8-5 trained PWO shake then 1 hour later a re-feed?

Or does it have to be no carb AM? Dosen't outline this in the book jsut says that you should feel fine as you replenish at night.

!?

No carbs Shane! Less than 30g all day before you train.

Has to be under 30g of usable carbs pre-workout and on non training days.
It won't work otherwise.

Read the book again Grin

how long have you been doing it?

are you hammering the carbs when you do have them?

I have been going no carb all day until after training for a while now, and though I'm not shifting the weights you are, I'm a hell of a lot heavier, and I get on fine with it

I know Irishmarc was doing something similar and thriving

maybe just stick with it and you'll adjust?

to get LBM ursus, i only got about 6kg to gain to be at around 90kg so i don't wana go mad and get chunky. i don't think adding that little fat will do anything at all

Yeah macca it does say that but i cannot train on that little carbs, maybe this is more BB orientated not performance ...

I think the general consensus in the CBL community is that you'll get used to it. The symptons you describe are just due to your body not getting carbs/food when it's used to, a week or two and you'll get used to it. If you don't get used to it by that point, then you probably never will.

If you change things around then by eating carbs spread out during the day then it's not really CBL any more. I'd then say you'd be better of sticking to your previous diet approach.

My question to you though is why? You're already in good shape, why change things around now?

If you just want to try something different, here's another option for you (And because I know how we all love the twins lol):

you're basically talking about a "lean bulk"

many BB talk about it...but IMO its unacheivable. You are going to increase BF along with lean muscle increase

Do the week long prep phase (I know that you haven't done it Wink )

It will teach your body how to efficiently use fats for fuel, then you won't have a problem.

Plenty of performance athletes use CBL without issues, training without eating carbs is easy once your body is used to it
