Very impressive strength mate. Not miles off depth-wise, and you stayed nice and upright (for that style of squatting obviously).

id say a good 4 inches, but with more confidents i think i can hit that. and cheers, i try and stay as upright as possible. my goal is to get 800lb next year in a boss suit before i turn 18 because not too many people have done that "officially".

700lbs is a hell of a weight to have on your back, takes anough balls to do that for starters! Im glad you recognise they were high, plenty of people blissfully train high then wonder why they stuggle in the comp. By the looks of things you have the strength but as you say, you need the confidence to get lower which is easier said than done at times!

Just out of interest, where do you train?

thats true, easier said than done lol im going to start to put a box there and not come up til i touch the box, wont be as heavy but it will get me used to getting lower in gear. but thats next time i get into gear which wont be a while.

i train at lee marshalls gym in birmingham called colliseum, we have got a really strong crew there, great place to train.

My thoughts on this will already be known.

High squats aside you and Nathan need to take on the dumbbell row challenge, its going upto 20 reps next week.

That's a big weight to have on your back, well done. As far as depth goes, to my uneducated eye, it seems that they are higher as you get heavier. It doesn't look like you struggle to drive it up at the heavier weight, som maybe just the confidence to sink a bit more?

And griff, what is the dumbbell row challenge? EDIT: just seen the other thread.

Are they high just to get use to the equipment with a plan of getting lower and lower? Never lifted in a suit!

That looks to be an awfully wide stance. I wouldn't attempt a legal depth squat with my feet so far apart.

Is there a reason for it ? The more I think about it, the less I like it.

As far as wide-stance squats go, I've seen people do alot worse and not even acknowledge they were high. I'm not saying it was even borderline depth wise mind. He didn't look like he was struggling for flexibility either, just confidence. Then again I know precisely f**k all about equipped squatting.
