An absolute monstrous feat of strength. Unfortunately I think your title sums it up perfectly though.

Super impressive strength. It's a pity with the straps and sumo that powerlifting and strongman both won't recognise. Probably more legit than equipped 500/501 in a suit for me.

Unbelievably strong but as mentioned, the fact there's straps and it's sumo means both strongman and powerlifters will discount it. Based on his powerlifting totals I thhink he's a good way from any like this without the straps with ~432 being his biggest in a deadlift only comp.

I wonder if the fed he lifts in classes "raw" as being with knee wraps?

I'm guessing he's not had any major injuries seeing as his strength seems to have consistently increased over the years. Wonder where it will end? Eek

I feel as though, whilst both sumo and conventional achieve the same goal, lifting up from dead off the floor, they are almost as different as a front squat from a back squat.

I'd like them to be considered as such, separate in that manner.

I have no idea if hitting 502 is more achievable or not in one or t'other, but they certainly seem very different lifts.

When you look at his ROM in a strapped lift Vs mixed grip his shoulders are hunched way forward and the bar is down at his fingertips. I'd say the straps take out another 3-4" at lockout. Sumo already has a shorter ROM.
Still no hitch, no deadlift bar graduating the bar off the floor and no suit. Legit 500+ deadlift for me. Are his feet wider than Thor's or Shaw's?

As insanely impressive as that is...Benni's 460kg strapless and suitless lift is still the most impressive single deadlift feat in history and then Eddis ladder training video is 2nd best most insane deadlifting feat...for me personally.

Absolutely phenomenal... but a different lift and a lesser lift than Eddie's and Thor's lifts, in my opinion. Aside from the reduced ROM, the narrower grip of sumo gives more flex.

Insane, and makes me reflect.

Pound for pound isnt it incredible to think were not even close to tapping into our evolved potential.

Anyone looking at this and thinking lifting weights isnt for them and its for 'other' gifted people, men especially... need to think again. We are so much more than the modern world has attempted to mould and stunt us. Our true selves are powerful in every sense of the word.

To those non-members looking in I say this. Get some weights, get down the gym. Who knows how it could change your life. Do it today.
