Goood. Think its better when only 3-5 max qualify tbh

disagree, 3-5 from north would mean 10ish in total in englands, and with around 20-30% drop rate of competetors you can have a much bigger amount of people qualifying.

Guess it all depends on how many athletes they want in ESM final.

Cant say its better to have 3-5 athletes max if theres going to be 15+ in the final and the Northerns has 2-3 times the amount of athletes.

Maybe it should be a guarranteed top whatever (3-5?) from each qualy, then the next 6 or so best comnpetitors, wherever they are from. If you take more from the north because more compete (for example) you may end up missing the next strongest lad if he's from the midlands. But I suppose that complicates things, and performance on the day/bad luck might mean this doesn't work. In fact it's best just to leave it to the organisers, they know their stuff. Happy

The number of qualified athletes has normally been calculated as a percentage of the total number of athletes competing Pete i think, due to the huge difference in numbers of athletes at each qualifier.

That's what I thought, so (for example)if the North has 20 competitors 5 might qualify,(25%) if the South has 15 competitors 3 qualify (25%) etc.
