Be carful as IP said. If you take more than your used to it may be okay to begin with but then you'll probably crash later on in the day. Not what you want before pulling! Maybe just have a good coffee before warming up for each lift?

As for eating try and get a nice amount down you in between each lift. It does depend how many flights there are though? If there's 3 then should be no probs.

I didn't heed any of my own advice at my last comp and had too much caffiene and now way near enough food over an 8 hour comp and bombed on the deadlift. It wasn't fun!

Lesson learnt; eat even if you don't have an appettite!!!!!

Good squating. 300 must be on the cards!

Bugger about the suit. Was it a size 40 titan? If so I can send you mine? Call it a long term loan till you get yourself sorted.

If you want me too I can PM me your details

I like lifting the heaviest stuff possible., That about sums it up really!!

Hitting a pb on the platform is way beyond doing it in the gym. Feels amazing!

I didn't read the link but am assuming its to do with dangers of diet-drinks (asparamte or however its spelt!) or sugar. I drink diet stuff as I prefer the taste and don't want to dink a s**t load of sugar. However I don't drink much of the stuff so it wouldn't matter either way TBH.

I doubt any sane person really believes diet-coke is 'healthy'!

Proper coke though is another matter! Its the business 'sniff' 'sniff'!! Tongue

Caution should be used when reviewing much of the research regarding post (and prior/ peri) exercise nutrtion. Most studies will have factored in a fasting period pior to training and nutritional intervention. I don't know many people that will have fasted for 8 hours before training! Therefore the significance of much lab based research in this area may be reduced. Not to say it has no bearing or any implication.

As many lifters are going to be eating 5 or more times a day I doubt highly specific post-work nutrition will make much of a difference. Total kcal and macronutrient content of your daily food intake is magnitudes of order more important when compered to timing and content of a post work out shake.

That my 2p worth anyway Tongue

I used to take 1-3g a day but have stopped doing so for most of this year. No ill effects in doing so. Probably a good idea to cover your bases but doubt it makes much of a diff to most people provided they have a sound diet.

16/7/07

Bench press (comp grip)- 120x2, 125x2, 130x2, 135x2, 140x1 (+1F rep)
Floor press (pinky grip)- 90x5, 100x5, 110x5, 120x3
Chin ups- 3x10
One arm cable rows- 10x3

Good session. Lots of solid work in the bench, and although gutted I just missed 140x2 the 135x2 was an equal pb with a bit spare. Floor pressing as normal felt good and a bit of a change in pace by doing some chins. Not done any regular pullups/chins in years so I think I'll start to build them up.
