I think the choice of feds is:
BWLA if you are clean
BPC/BPO if you are on gear
BDFPA if you think everyone else is on gear and you want "easy" titles

Come and get one, big boy!Happy

Also the 24 hour weigh-in BPC/BPO makes a big difference.

Great site and refreshingly nob-free. Well done guys.
» novice strongman comp in north west (Go to post)26-08-2007 @ 21:47
John WWW did the Northwich Novice comp today and was shocked at how high the standard was. He came tenth (out of fifteen) but he had never practised for any of the events, only got in on the day when someone didn't turn up, and he came second in the log lift (85K) having never even tried it before. As he said afterwards, he managed to move everything (not everyone could) and didn't disgrace himself and now he knows what it'a all about. And he got an invite to come over to Northwich on Saturdays to work with the equipment.

We're going back tomorrow to watch the big guys. If anyone's there, come and say hello. I'll be wearing my black teeshirt with "Golden Oldie" on it - in gold, of course. Won't risk the singlet in case there's a gay pride stall at the show.Happy

Martin,
Did you ever watch Arthur saxon lift?
What about Louis Cyr?

Louis Cyr was awesome when I saw him. I missed Saxon because the sheep needed shearing that week and I couldn't go. Still kick myself that I missed him - but my fellow villagers stayed warm all winter because of my sacrifice.

I'm guessing Louis Martin?

And I remember being impressed when I went to watch Sandow, of course!

A cow. Especially one wanting alimony.

Agreed. Without writing a thesis, if you lower with your back, your front delts are fresh for the upward attack. If you don't lower with your back, you pre-exhaust the "up" muscles on the way down, so they can't work at 100% on the way up. Plus a tight back raises the chest and reduces the pressing distance, and you don't have to take the bar quite so far down either.

You know what they say about us islanders, Neil. I'd think twice before posting any goat/sheep stuff, especially involving tongues.Happy

Nice one Bryn. Any of them doing the North West Bench? I think 1016 and Eye Of The Tiger would go together quite well!

Like I've always said, if you want that pb, wear a pink vest. Wouldn't it be nice if we could train outside in this country? Venice Beach, Birkenhead, has a kind of ring to it.
