Wrong venue! The equipped was held there, but the unequipped is at Tyseley, just off the A45. Who's the homo?! Hayden, pm me with your email address if you need an entry form.

Hi Guys, If anyone's competing in this, Saturday will be all women and all men up to and including 75s PLUS 100s. Sunday will be 82s, 90s, and 110s and above. Venue is Tyseley. Closing date for entries is 27th August, so you need to get your forms off ASAP. If anyone needs a form, pm me with your email address and I'll send one to you.

Any trainers, mate, as long as they're clean! You can't set a world record at a regional comp in BDFPA, but you can set a British one provided you've been a member for at least 3 months and the referees are suitably qualified. You can get a fourth lift in BDFPA to break a record, including a divisional record at a divisional event. That's assuming your third lift was successful! No fourth attempts in BWLA/IPF since January 2007.

You didn't mention trainers, and you can wear wrist straps and still be unequipped if you want to.

Good luck, Sivvy. You'll also need a cotton teeshirt to wear under the singlet for the bench (round neck, sleeve half way between shoulder and elbow, preferably plain). I'd normally advocate opening with what you could double on your last training session, but as it's your first comp, I'd suggest opening with the max weight you can do a triple with. Remember the first lift is to register a good lift in the comp - you've still got two more to push the boat out with. Rob's right. You don't know yet if comps give you more or less than in the gym. Don't open too heavy and get a nasty surprise.

Welcome Tom. I've more or less given up on MT these days, apart from checking out some of the lads' training journals from time to time.

Well done mate. Awesome performance. You're obviously mentally strong as well to overcome the lack of oomph. That's what separates the true competitors from the mere participants. More power to you.

Hi Mate, you do know there's another Rhino? He doesn't post here, but he owns the gym where most of the BWLA NW comps are held. Fat Pete's right, btw. The only choice you've got is the colour.

Go on US Ebay, Athletic Apparrel, Wrestling, and there's loads at good prices. Some nice masks, too...

I'd strongly recommend two guys in Widnes Holistic Centre if you can get over there Hayden. A guy called Andy Shutt has sorted out my back more times than I care to remember and Paul McGregor gives REALLY deep sports massages - not even slightly enjoyable, unfortunately, but very efective.

Happy Happy Happy . Sheep shagging in the Hebrides is quite different from Lincolnshire. There, it's back feet in the wellies, front feet over the fence. With us, it's back feet in the wellies, from feet over the shoulders. That way we don't miss out on the kissing.Tongue
