Not the bicep tears (because you can get that in powerlifting) but the predetermined weights of the objects that have to be shifted.

In PL, yes you squat/bench/dead and some may find that boring, but at least you lift within your capabilities. You decide the weight that goes on the bar. If you overestimate your strength and hurt yourself then you've got yourself to blame. It's much more of personal challenge.

Why should I have to trust someone who decides that say this anvil needs to weigh x and that everyone should have a go at it?


also add to that the fact that the equipment used are at least regulated and standardised, not just some apparatus cooked up together by some cowboy in his garage.
