Some bench and good mornings:

Some benching from today. Weights moved a little slower than I hoped for, but this'll be from benching earlier in the week

That sounds like the best way to get rhabdomyolysis to me!
Eek

You obviously wouldn't be doing things like squats/deadlifts, but things like leg curls triceps extensions etc.

Serious question? Its not risky, just set some bars up and go down.
Not sure what ultra hip rep work is. Eccentrics are the best thing for tendons, this is why its always prescribed for tendonitis.
This is for squats btw, i have no clue about bench. I can do press ups easier than a 160 bencher though, does this mean im strong??

I mean like reps of at least 100 as tendons have such a low blood supply, causing the tendons to grow and then more force can be produced by them.

That does sound interesting though, never really heard of anyone doing these properly and it having any real positive effect

Its for tendon strength. Alot of track and field athletes do it.

Why not just do ultra hip rep work instead of that? Seems really risky...

The only thing i can think of as to why eccentrics would be of any use would be to build a bit of muscle mass which can then be used to increase maximal strength. Or gaining confidence. But there are much safer ways of doing that

Why not just use bands to build a better stretch reflex in the first place, without the "super overload"?...

The "super overload" is doing nothing then. And 3x3 of what? Potatoes?

but that is not building the stretch reflex....

Well, if you watch the Iranian weighlifters squat, its eccentric.

a squat is not an eccentric though. its an eccentric contraction followed by a concentric contraction i.e. a stretch shortening cycle. An eccentric is when there is an eccentric phase but no concentric.

Rolex, if static holds and eccentrics work so brilliantly, why don't the worlds best use them?...

So are you sticking with high bar? I thought all the westsiders and powerlifters in general used low bar

Yeah usually but when using canvas if you tip forward you will not make depth

Nice lift Max, you've got me wanting to make another trip there so bad!

Some nice squats today, hit a 15kg PR, but was such a hassle unracking it!

Things don't have to go up 50kg for them to help. I'm sure his FP is up about 20kg. also, his lockouts are way up, which is why is log and axle are up. If you looked at vids of him he's always had the leg strength to get it up to lockout but never had the triceps to finish.

Its often one little thing that is missing. if you fix this you would be amazed at how much it increases....
