As much if not more protein than red meat. Fantastic. That is all.

Thanks for that info. I hope my local shop is well stocked with Snickers bars.

by the way 100kg clean from knees for a triple is STRONG!

Thanks. It's certainly a difficult position to generate any speed from. Bar was just below my knees.

Hercules have a stones platform too? cool!

It's new. A tad on the high side for a midget for me, but what I need really.

Why didn't you do axle cleans?

Axle power cleans aren't a good substitute to oly bar power cleans for me, because grip becomes the weak link.

I continental clean axles, and that is one of my strongest lifts. I don't train axle power cleans.

Today...

POWER CLEANS from just below knees (in power rack)

70 x 2
70 x 2

I realised the bar was bent.

100 x 3
100 x 3

Bent bar was causing me problems, so set it all up again with a different bar... but that turned out to be bent as well (not as bad)!!

102.5 x 2
102.5 x 2

Got fed up with my messy bent-bar cleans and moved on to something else...

AXLE DEAD LIFTS (double overhand, straps)

160 x 1
200 x 1
230 x 1
253.5 x 1 - nice smooth lift Happy

ATLAS STONE - no tacky - in the rain!

Wanted to try out our new platform. Chin height for me. Hadn't touched an Atlas Stone for months.

110 - fail - couldn't get enough height
110 - fail - couldn't get enough height
110 x 1 Happy

CHINS (under-hand grip)

BW x 10

Am finding the axle hard with the slightly lower to the gound pull and no flex in the bar.

My axle dead (double overhand with straps) seems to be pretty much equal to my oly bar dead. Maybe because I'm a "slow" dead lifter. I'm amazed by the zip you get off the floor.

the build up

Alien concept to me! I arrive at the gym and make a judgement on how heavy I feel I can lift on that particular day - and then lift!
