Hi Jason. I'll be following your journal with interest - and working out a way of beating you at something! Can I claim to have a stronger face?

I've asked this on SDF too - what is the address of the comp?

I'm glad I'm not alone in the "got hit in the face while trying to press a yoke" club!!!

WILLSAN said: another great session mate. your yoke has improved loads. how are the injuries? Yes, another good session - apart from the whack in the face, obviously!! I'm OK. The lip is a nuisance when eating and brushing teeth, but that's about all.

JC said: Looks like a nice session Wayne. Yoke is improving rapidly and farmers look strong buddy. what are the comp plans for the rest of the year? I don't know about "rapidly" improving, but I'm certainly progressing! I'm doing the Guildford charity comp in 2 weeks. My name is also down for Will's intermediate comp (October?). That's all at the moment.

Trained on "The Farm" with WILLSAN and jt again yesterday. YOKE 240 for 20 metres - felt heavy! 300 for 20 metres - messy, one drop 320 for 20 metres - PB - that`s better! 360 - a few messy steps FARMER`S 70 per hand for 40 metres 100 per hand for 20 metres 120 per hand for 20 metres 140 per hand for 20 metres OVERHEAD MEDLEY - yoke, log trainer, axle, "bag" - all around 100Kg Dropped yoke and got hit in the face. My 1st thought (apart from OUCH) was - are my teeth still there? They were. Split my lip and had a bloody nose. Did the medley twice (minus yoke!). Failed the "bag" both times. Atempted 120 axle (although initially it was mis-loaded at 130!), but couldn't quite clean it. Had nothing left. Also attempted to press the "bag" again, but failed.

WILLSAN said: hows the back wayne? im looking forward to a heavy yoke + farmers medley! I was thinking of axle/oly bar/log trainer/yoke for a press medley? It wasn't a bad strain, and I think I'll be OK on Sunday, as long as I don't go mad with back-dominant stuff! I'll see how I feel. Overhead medley sounds good.

Overhead work. Medleys - even though I HATE cardio! I think I'll skip the yoke this time. Don't want to put too much pressure on my back. Plus, it was such a bugger to adjust it last time. Looking forward to it.

JC said: Nice block deadlifts mate. Your worst DL area from the floor? No, the lock-out is my weakest part, but I think these are beneficial wherever your weakness lies. |
