Really bad luck mate, just ice the s**t out of it. This has some pretty good stuff on muscle strains, maybe worth a look?: http://www.eatmoveimprove.com/2010/01/on-muscle-strains/ Do you think you will still compete at the weekend?

PAGAN, reckon i'll try a deadlift attempt next week, have no idea what to aim for mind... Rodger said:Agree with riain's dark horse comment mate! your log work is looking fantastic whats your secret? how many reps did you get on deads? what was your final position steve? Cheers mate, no secret, just the fear of looking a t**t in front of a lot of people ha ha! Got 4 reps on the deads mate, the plan was to save something for the later events. Final position was 10th, stones really messed things up for me.

Hi mate, cant you train the oly lifts in the stone room at OSG? There is usually more room in there compared with Sunday and they have bumpers etc.

@ Bryce Cheers mate, will have a look at the events for the ants, its a heavy old comp. @ Boar Thanks for all your support pal, just couldnt get a grip on the stone, just kept on sliding off. think i was something like 4th or 6th going into the last event so i could have got a trophy. hey ho. With the deads difficult to say, think 2 wouldnt have been too much of a problem. @ Riain Cheers mate, not sure about dark horse though

Champions of the future Farmers: no drops, felt quick overall. Started steady then sped up. Overhead medley (85Kg axle and log): 2 axle and log. Power cleans on the axle went well. Should have split jerked the last axle. Failed log once, jerk felt fine after that. Car deadlift: 4 reps Had to shift feet forward a little which helped loads. Stopped at 4, probably had another 2 left. Wanted to save something for later Sandbag medley: 3, 80Kg sandbags approx 15m from platform Felt quick throughout, sandbags popped up nicely 200Kg Conan’s wheel: Just shy of 3 revolutions. Horrible event. Atlas stones: Bombed out…. 10th overall Felt strong throughout the day. Strategy on the deads would have been smart if the stones would have gone better. But I didn’t so it wasn’t Had a great day overall, learnt loads and everyone was great. Fantastic experience. Monday 21 OHP: 40Kg: 3-3 50Kg: 3-3-3-3 55Kg: 3-3-3-3-3 40Kg: 10 Then played around with high-bar back squat with lighter weights. So far so good.

Riain said:Cheers Neil mate Steve, the axle, suprisingly was easier than I have ever done it, My cleans in the past involved a lot of grunting and Swearing, only to end up with the Bar miles away from my body. Shaun Clegg gave me ONE SESSION and I nail it every time now. Happy days! Gutted.....

Great work on the squats mate, are you a fan of box squats then? do you think they are helping your regular squat much? Awesome pressing power as usual by the way |
