I pulled my first 500 back in 2008 in a powerlifting comp.

I was ready for it months in advance but the guy I trained with (who was a great powerlifter) never let me pull anything heavier than 215kg for ages. I was chomping at the bit!! 215 was flying like an empty bar.

When the comp came round, I went 215, 227, 240. Awesome feeling!

Yeah, the method, as such, was: you turn up to the gym and train hard 3-4 times a week, every week, no matter what.

Funnily enough, it worked!

Funnily enough, it worked!


Sounds solid, seen all kinds of training programs and this and that and in the end the only way to really do it is train hard and often in my opinion for the strength gains.
