Just a thought but. If you only ever did Power Cleans and Front Squats... Would you get full leg development (strength wise not prettyness)? Or would your hamstrings be lacking?

This is an interesting point. One of my training partners does oly lifting and has quite a severe lack or hamstring development and strength. He's quite a strong lad (125/160 @94) but has only just starting doing RDLs etc to build up some hamstring strength.

It may be good for your leg development but that combo is bad for your bo***cks.

If you stop back squatting your bo***cks start shrinking and eventually regress back into your abdomen.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

I think you could get away with it if you did clean pulls, but not power cleans alone. I just don't think the load would be sufficient enough with power cleans

I'll outline the problem more then...

It looks like I'm moving to Africa to wor for an NGO...

I will only be able to get 170kg weights there. They won't be bumpers, good food, medical support, a spot, access to other gym facilities.

I plan to set up a squat rack thing with some oil drums/shipping containers etc

Need a plan for lower body.

why not instead of taking 170kg of weight - take 170kg worth of good food, medical support and a spot (presuming you are a sniper)

hahaha, cos the food would go off once it was shipped there, you can't find a surgeon for the money i have and i'm unfortunately not a sniper!!

unit, had considered this and there is not a perfect option, but, what happens if you fail a good morning? and surely i'll easily move 170 for 10+ reps on rldl pretty fast?

Yeah good mornings couldn't be to failure, rdls were the only other thing I could think of! How about Zercher good mornings? Then you wouldn't have to worry about failing

oh no, its a good thought, zercher is definately an idea. rldl is probably out, do you think one could work good mornings close to failure and still see good results safely? I have no experience of good mornings
